Re: Weekend Annuals.
Not quite correct! Any and all airworthiness related defects MUST be entered in the Journey logbook ( If they are not rectified on the annual ) , NOT scribbled on a sheet of paper. Where does it state this in the cars? You may want to have a look at CAR 605 schedule 1. A person who conducts an annu...

Re: ICS Canada AME Course
Let me re phrase that.....It meets the requirements of basic training, however not approved for accreditation hours (1800) and the exams are not T.C. approved.
So you will have to write the 3 technical exams plus CARs and complete your 48 months in a shop if you want a license.

The Lamars on the restart Cessna's are even worse. We tried sky tech but they were eating up ring gears.

Re: production manager vs QA manager
I can certainly relate to much of the last 2 posts by luv2fly2 and the weasel. I have often been in that position of having to find everyone's faults or mistakes within the shop. It is the shitty part of the job, but without a good qa guy, TC will shut down any AMO or commercial operator. Just takes...

Re: Maintenence and repair quality???????
Repair alot of wrecked airplanes for re-sale. If thats the case stay away, they will repair the minimum to keep cost down. I recently inspected one that the fuel lines were still kinked at the wing root from the previous damage. Like buying a house that was used as a grow op. Might look good on the ...

The tasks must be representative of the eligible maintenance tasks listed in STD 566, Appendix B, applicable to the aircraft, systems or structures on which the experience (to include total, specialty and civil) was obtained." Re: Rumors of AME licensing change?
I still read that as.......70% of tasks applicable to the rating sought. the rest of the mumbo jumbo still refers to all items applicable to the license rating "the full range of applicable systems and structures...." Transport runs the book through a computer system and if there are not enough tas...

Re: Rumors of AME licensing change?
This is an incorrect statement. The requirement of the license is to have 70% of the tasks completed for the applicable license rating. Not 70% of the tasks relating to the aircraft you maintain. In some cases people may even have to switch employers to get their hands on different aircraft. No Sir...

Re: Rumors of AME licensing change?
Quite conceivably, you could carry out 70% of the tasks required to maintain a J-3 Cub, work on them for 18 months to meet the requirement for an M1 Licence and the day after you are handed your licence, go release work on a privately-owned Cessna 421, having never seen one in your life. The aileron rod ends should not have any play, but they should rotate freely.(sometimes you will get some lateral, but should be no raidal play) The elevator bearings and bushings should only take a few hours. I would highly recommend getting a proper pre-purchase done by an AME who knows small pist...
