Gilles??
Isn't this part of Gilles' "Put Canadian Pilots to work program"
Sorry, that should have read "Put Transat Pilots to work program"
Sadly, doesn't look good for Canjet
I'm sure Gilles has lots of good ideas on how to fix that problem though.

Re: Violating Canadian laws and regulations galore - Who car
I cringe when people can't use the English language properly too.It seems like ATC doesn't have much patients with them either.
It's PATIENCE.
I'm sure you've never screwed up a radio call either.

Re: Canada Jetlines Ltd ?
That's all we need.....another medium jet operator paying captd less than 70k a year! Obviously you don't remember what Westjet paid when they entered service. Fact is, we all have or will have to start on the low end, see Rouge's starting pay. This country could use another airline. Any flight I h...

Re: Question for Sunwing insiders
Let me guess TG, you work for Transat.
Why would anyone wish job loss on somebody else?
Unless, of course, it would benefit Transat, but
that's not what this is all about, is it.

Re: Union Incompetence- ALPA
Politically correct means you do things for both sides in order to maintain the support for your party. Whatever the resolve is, as far as the current employment of foreign workers, it's not going to sway completely to the other end as you may want. Gilles, as much as you are "trying" to do somethin...

Thanks for the info, I've sent a bunch of them emails explaining
how the economy benefits from the extra work Sunwing provides
to a lot of other facets of the industry. Not to mention additional
tax revenue generated.
Great idea!!
Keep up the good work.

Re: Sunwing's employees still not a priority
Perhaps you don't know enough about the CAW.
They represent more than just auto workers, not
that it matters either way.
ALPA was approached and turned the pilots down.
Absolutely nothing wrong with going CAW, in fact,
probably a lot better off.

Re: Anyone have a TP-2943 Personnel Licensing Procedures Man
Genuine, flagrant, outrageous violation? Gilles, I think you're reaching on this one. Now that Sunwing has started to hire Canadian pilots, you're still not satisfied. Transport Canada is part of a conspiracy to ensure Sunwing has pilots in the winter time? C'mon man. What are you going to do about ...

I'm sure some have seen this in the job ads section, for those Canjetters that feel it may be time to move on. Don't know what the signing bonus is but has to be worth looking into. Isn't it amazing that as soon as this post was placed that
Gilles hasn't said a word. I guess he's waiting to see how this will affect the
pilots of Transat, oops, I mean all Canadian pilots.

Re: Foreign Pilots: expect this in the near future
ALPA? Take a look at the latest Air Line Pilot magazine published by ALPA, Jan. 2013 It specifically names Sunwing as a source of it's troubles, however, it fails to mention by name, Canjet, with whom they represent. Funny how that works. Again, what's this really about? The problem or the competiti...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
You're wasting your breath fasken... you will have to hire more Canadian pilots and lift your requirement for a type rating before you will gain any credibility with Canadian pilots, other then those who are management at your company. Hired Canadian pilots in the spring, even upgraded some of them...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue
Don't fool yourself, before Sunwing was a thorn in Transat's side nobody took any notice. While Transat has laid off once again for the second winter in a row, Sunwing has hired and not laid off, some permanent and some temporary Canadian pilots. Still not good enough though, as it's still is a thor...

Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots winter 2012-2013
Any F/O that was able to upgrade in the spring was given the opportunity to do so, including F/O's hired as recently as the spring. Any F/O that has remained an F/O now has a number of pilots below them and can hold a schedule that gives them just about whatever they want, including Christmas and Ne...

Re: Foreign Pilots flying in Canada
Gilles, That's one job, the others are, hundreds of flight attendants, a hundred or so ramp workers across Canada, catering, gate agents, check in staff, etc... If Transat pilots weren't concerned, a lot of these threads would never have started as it was the noise Transat made about laying off 17 p...

Re: Foreign Pilots flying in Canada
Gilles,
Is your concern with Canadian pilots everywhere?
Or are you just concerned with the pilots at Transat?
My question would be.......
How much tax revenue is generated by all the additional
employees that Sunwing hires for the winter due to it's
hiring of foreign pilots

Do yourself a favour. Cathay wants "B" type personalities. Those who will nod, say yes sir, and go along with whatever you're told. You are not given credit for what you have done before, only that you are willing to bow done in front of the upper echelon and let them know you're "not worthy"of such...

15% Bonus Paid to Sunwing Employees
Just heard recently that the owners of Sunwing sent out a memo some day last week about a bonus of 15% of each employees pay.
Guess they had a really good year last year.
Merry Christmas from Sunwing
