Or are crews who apply for that position expected to move to YYZ? Thanks, Just gonna jump in here to answer ya. Yes, many many pilots commute YYC-YYZ. In...

Re: Orca ad
Orca better have one, or better yet, two spare Navajo's for these runs for the constant break downs in the Alberta winter. Those machines do not like being run hard in the morning, let sit to freeze in the middle of the day, then run hard again at night. Five days a week.

Re: Multi IFR test coming up.
Remember MDA is not the same as DH. You stay at MDA until you reach MAP. You can be in and out of IMC during that time without going missed. Good call. Another one I just remembered: In the missed approach, your missed approach altitude is a hard altitude. Meaning, if in the missed approach you get...

Re: Multi IFR test coming up.
My biggest tip would be to get a good night sleep the night before. Other than that, take the Colonels word as gospel and you should be just fine. Also make sure you know the cap gen front to back. On my first group 1 ride(and every one thereafter) I was asked a whole lot of questions that can be fo...

Sunwest info requested
Is anyone here willing to chat with me through PM about current conditions at Sunwest? Looking for information on movement, schedule, pay, and general moral. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I would rather communicate through PM than in an open thread.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Plane missing in Antarctica
Google maps doesn't give a lot of resolution but I see lots of surviveable terrain. Correct. Google shows that lat long at 7500 feet and it appears to be on a light upslope rising about 300 in a mile, at least to the east. But it is Google. There is nothing above about 11,700 in that range, accordi...

Praying for all three of my friends tonight. I've flown that exact route and those last 50 miles are some tough terrain. Keep warm boys.

Re: Kenn Borek
What I meant was that plans change all the time, people may get sick or injured, or maybe an urgent reason to come home early and have to be replaced. So you MIGHT get called. It doesn't always happen, it may never happen, it may only happen once or twice. There are those who dont want to be called,...

Re: Kenn Borek
It isn't time off, it's just time "out". You can get called back to work anytime while on your time out. The only time you can take a vacation is when you actually book the time off.

Re: Ice Pilots of NWT Series on History Channel this Fall!
It is easier said than done finding something that will get you up high enough to sweep the top of the wings. Can't say I remember for sure but believe the top of the wing on the '46 is 16' above ground at the highest point. We used to stand on a pallet lifted up by a fork lift sometimes if the gro...

I guess they can't afford ladders with wheels and a platform attached?? Oh no wait, it's the "I-managed-to-get-it-done-without-complaining-or-killing-myself-maybe-you-just-can't-cut-it-here" attitude. http://ullrich-aluminium.co.nz/images/platform_ladder.jpg That's exactly the attitude. It is easie...
