Cessna 206 door improvements

Not sure how many of you have seen this but we have fixed the 206 door issue for opening it when the flaps are down.

Re: Maintenaince Costs For Cessna 172s

If you look at our website, www.coastdogaviation.com we publish the flat rate annual inspection rate for a number of types of airplanes. This is, of course, with the addition for AD's, Oil, Filters, etc. That means we will do your version of the annual and then we will add on what we cannot forsee. ...

Re: 100 hour inspections

For all of you "experts" on here, remember, it's your ass in the airplane when something breaks that would have been found with a proper inspection by a qualified AME. It just never ceases to amaze me what a bunch of experts we have out here who have never actually been involved in the maintenance e...

Re: Aircraft maintenance rates.

Photofly, if you look at my website, you will find annuals are flat rated, I usually will give a customer a price ahead of doing the job and unless something drastic happens that is beyond our control, we stick to it. So, in that respect, we are pretty much like what you are talking about. If we bre...

Re: Aircraft maintenance rates.

Both AME's and AMO's are terribly underpaid. You cannot make a difference for what you are doing, you are worth a certain amount no matter what you are doing. People are happy to pay $140/hr at the Toyota dealership but bitch about paying $90/hr at an AMO. Well as TC and the insurance companies keep...

For a compass swing, you all may be a bit surprised by actually reading the manufacturers instructions.

Re: Continental O-200 overhaul

Iflyforpie, I'd be a bid more careful with the advice about the internals as I've seen many cases of Continentals having pitting issues on cams and lifter bodies. It is not just restricted to Lycoming.. They will both do it in the right situation. If you don't believe me come on over to my hangar an...

Re: AME Work Schedules

I worked so many different shifts back in the day I can't even begin to describe.. My fave when I was playing with the bigger airplanes was the 4+4, at least then you had a chance of a somewhat regular life. 5+2 afternoons or nights suck and I would totally avoid them. I hate to say it but I now hav...

Re: Transferring Canadaian CPL and float time to Dubai

Ive worked for Seawings and they will have your UAE license issued to you through their government. Their requirements are at least 3000hrs total with 1000hrs PIC on floats...they also look at your C208 experience and where you've worked. After all, ripping a fully loaded stock 208 off the creek at...
