Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ

[/iLooks like they hit the power line. I can't believe how AC is downplaying this accident. The AP manager also calls it a hard landing, and the power going off was a coincidence. Yes, I remember the old days when a hard landing was when the masks dropped out and maybe a few babies in the back star...

Re: FP60 update Federal Court of Appeals

Meanwhile, as I understand it, those pilots who you elected and appointed to fight this inevitability on your behalf and in your name are now starting to enjoy the fruits of their labour, sitting at or near the top of the list for an extra five years, pulling in big bucks. Well done. I don't see yo...

Re: FP60 update Federal Court of Appeals

Ever hear the old saying, " you can't teach an old dog new tricks?" WHY? Ask any doctor. For most individuals, at 60, the body and mind enter an accelerated downhill slide that began 30 years prior. There is no way that any individual could honestly say that at 60, they are as mentally, and physica...

where does 'good standing with the company' fit in? they were trying to fire me for the last 20 years of my career there.......I think when I retired, I was the most highly suspended pilot in history.....now that all those managers are mostly gone, I cant wait to come back in my golden years without...

The retired pilots already gave at the office when they lost the pension indexing a few years back.....if the OSFI and the unions held management's feet to the fire and made the buggars pay back into the pension plan what they fraudulently manipulated out of it, then they would not have been able to...

As you guys go through your negots.......perhaps this will help you remember what you give up for your profession...... Time for the rape to stop.....if they can afford to pay the execs these huge salaries, then surely they can afford to keep their commitments to the employees and their pensions.......

Re: Mandatory Retirement Repealed!!!

I am wondering if anyone at this LEC meeting in Toronto asked the executive what the legal bills are to date on this file. With all the recent changes, why would the MEC not fly this Vancouver based lawyer down to the meeting to explain to the members the legal ramifications of the pending legislati...

Re: Mandatory Retirement Repealed!!!

As a outside observer. Why not say the pilots that want to return must fly for 2 years before they obtain the CASH Settlement. No return, or not doing the 2 years No CASH Settlement. Hey DLurker.... Go back to school and get a law degree......then spend 30 or 35 years in the profession and become a...

Re: Air Canada Pilot Arrested for Dognapping

I found the article interesting because we finally have found an Air Canada pilot that is focused on something other than 1. Themselves or 2. merger, or 3. fly past 60 with a real sensitive side towards our 4 legged friends. Not that I agree with her approach, just that I think there are perhaps a l...

Well, we already know this government's position on mandatory retirement, and if the Dept. of Justice wanted to remain neutral on the subject, they would not be submitting a brief on their position. It will be an interesting read come November when their brief is submitted. I suspect it will be one ...

Iain: you are correct. There is no provision for GIDIP after age 60. Now, if you had a couple hundred sick days you might be able to hang in there a little longer. The good thing about a decision that is so bad and one sided, is that it will be probably be thrown out in its entirety at appeal. Maybe the decision was a subliminal message that we should all hang up our wings before we turn 83. The fat lady ain't finished singing by a long shot. Just going to tak...
