Re: Who's hiring?
It doesn't seem like AME's have been hit hard, because we haven't recovered yet from the last few recessions. Wages have been stagnant since the '70s. Management's attitudes haven't changed since the '50s. Airlines are outsourcing everything to Brazil, Mexico, India, and Bangladesh. We can't be kic...

Re: Maintenance Engineers
brv, You should look for some professional help....before is to late. As backstabbing goes, you have Master degree.... And you never answer, what you can do to improve AME positions, and would you rock the boat? At the end, of maybe union, maybe Canada wide AME association to do something for all le...

If I could help AME situation, i would, but I am only Minister of Transport....so my hands are tied.... Here is a nice link for you: http://www.angeronline.com/Anger Management Counse...

Re: Maintenance Engineers
Whatever, not sure that I worked with you...will remember very frustrated guy... but in future will send PM. Did not see in my post ever that I claim being "great" but was adding to the working positions, and some other points, what you most likely do not see. Not putting anybody on "my side" , was ...

Well brv! while I was freezing my but you are maybe in your dad and mom plans! I am not in mcc, something else that your brain could not figure out in next 10 years. This is why we are where we are and pilots are whey they are! My comment was for Pat, maybe to avoid you, will send him PM next time! ...

Re: Maintenance Engineers
Hey Pat, I received many times same thing ("what a ^$#$#$ you thinking, that cost so much!) and also "so yes you did spent over 2 days straight at work, but not all that time is consider O/T". Point for hotel comes since I am in office last decade, and can see how Company cares for pilot duty time, ...

Re: Maintenance Engineers
One of the best post I seen so far. Went a bit of topic but did answer why is shortage of qualified AMEs. I know few endorsed guys (727,757, 737) that left aviation, sick and tired of working outside, expected to be available 24/7, harsh conditions, overworked and under payed. Those of you who work ...

Hope this help.

Sounds like the new Cargo World version of Jazz, hope the pay and moral is better! Not even close to Jazz!! Pay is good and the moral is way up there!! And my seniority is just climbing to the top, keep it up Cargojet!! I'm glad to hear that the Peair pilots will keep their seniority number with th...

Re: Citation X CMM
if you are maintaining a CX you should have a current library already? but if you are just curious about something i'm betting most CX Mech's who have paid $$ for this document will probably protect their own business interests and not share the document. Stupid answer, if you can't help don't both...

The biggest "IF" with the Lycoming engines is sitting time. If you buy an AC with a low time engine and the last overhaul was 20 years ago chances are that the cam shaft needs replacing. But if you bought a high time engine from a flying school that did 6-800 hours per year you should be in good sh...
