Re: PML2.0/Jazz, Sky Regional, GGN, EVAS
Take some consolation in the fact that if you haven't been PFO'd 6 month after completely everything you will probably be hired whenever your express carrier can find a replacement for you. Unfortunately it was voted for low new hire pay to keep your salary high so attracting people to replace you ...

Re: New hire bids
I was quite surprised at that. I know we are short staffed but I didn't think we would be hiring 280 more pilots this year. Can't see AC taking that many. Yeah that seems like alot. Especially considering a ton of people from list 2.0 are getting pfo'd You started another thread asking how many 2.0...

Re: Looking for stability...
YYC is not very likely anymore. All depends on equipment in the hiring class, but most new hires are going to YVR.Inverted2 wrote:You'd probably get YYC right away at Jazz. At the worse YVR but YYZ has become rather senior with the jet flying gone out of Toronto.

Haters are haters cause they most likely got pfo'd and are now bitter

Re: Low-timer Road Trip
The PC12 is a single pilot aircraft but you can log co-pilot time on it if it is required to be operated 2 crew in your COM. Transport counts that time. Not sure if the van is the same with that regard though.

Re: Jazz or Encore?
. The stick is that 80% of all future AC new-hire vacancies will be filled from AC Express. The 80% is only for actual AC Express employees, I also understand that pay cut is for the ones who will follow. It is a good deal for AC Express pilots, but not a good one for next guys. So a new hire is no...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
So, as Krimson said, if you're a new hire now, and getting on a migration list to AC is seniority based, then you have nearly 3 airlines worth of pilots (jazz/sky/ggn) who will get that interview before you. Seems a toss up to me whether OTS or jazz gives you a better chance... In the meantime, is ...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
I'm curious as to how you come up with $36,000/year salary. I'm not saying it's not true, but I've been told starting hourly rate is $36/hr. Based on 80 hours a month that is $34,500 gross income. Can you count on more than 80 hours/ month or is there more to it than that? (Other ways to top off blo...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
As countryhick said. The timeline has been set by AC and the flow through has been arranged by AC and chorus in order to reduce costs with minor input from ALPA. ALPA wanted a lot more but has been told "take it or leave it". Wanna play hard ball with CR? How'd that work out for ACPA? Thought so. P...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
The FO pay at Jazz will top out higher than Capt pay at Encore and Georgian. Plus you get a pension, excellent benefits, and you'll get perdiems that will more than cover you unless you eat at the Keg on every layover. There's no guarantee that you would have a job after ten years, let alone fiftee...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
It's easy to say it's not just about pay when you aren't the one facing a large pay cut to get into the airline industry. The industry is changing for the people on the outside into a very scary situation. Guys have been working hard at 703/704 companies hoping to build enough hours to make it to a...

I can't speak for everyone and the whole experience with Encore, but most people I've talked to hate the seats on Encore and find them super uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
This is a survival contract. by cedeing a slight pay reduction in the first years we managed to save 1350 jobs for currebt enployees and countless jobs for people not on the property yet that might otherwise have to work at Georgian for shittier terms, working conditions and long term renumeration....

Re: Air Canada Pool
How quickly is this flow through agreement supposed to take effect? Also, what benefit is it to a Jazz Capt. Who waited forever to finally get a left seat job with with a decent salary to give it up to go to AC? Bigger metal? Their pay will be subsidized by Jazz for first 4 years with the intent th...
