Re: Will Mainline service to HNL, OGG & KOA end this year?

Apparently it will remain mainline. Plan is to use the new B737 Max when they arrive. AC doesn't want to switch to Rouge and then back to mainline in the interim. Heard this from Rovinescu.

Re: 50 Q400 at WJ being farmed out

An interesting development to say the least. Well I appreciate that nothing is set in stone, the tone that is being set regarding wages and working conditions says one thing to me... that management at Westjet doesn't have any faith in the Westjet brand and that should worry all the employees there...

Re: U.S. air marshals flee Brazil

As I have been to Brazil on many occasions and witnessed the BS that goes on there, I would have done the same. I wouldn't give a rats arse what message I was sending if my life was in the hands of a corrupt legal system. Period.

There are no new hires for YVR due to more internal base transfer requests than there are vacancies.

Re: Is the A380 that different?

Rode the 380 from Toronto to Dubai. It is quiet but it has a terrible ride in the bumps considering it's size. It seemed to wallow and heave all over the place. I'd say the good ol' 747 had a much better ride.

Re: Need Help to Convert Canadian ATP into Indian ATP

If your family members are from there and if you are an apne with experience your chances go way up. You will have to convert your ATPL to and Indian ALTP which is very involved if not sponsered by an airline willing to hire you. By involved I mean you may make it by who you know and what type of in...

Re: Need Help to Convert Canadian ATP into Indian ATP

As rigpiggy said, slim to none. Airlines in India may only look at you if you have some serious command time on a Boeing NG, A320 or E190. And that "may" look at yuo is even more iffy now due to overcapasity in the Indian market.

Re: Lets talk about the Piper Navajo

Navajo shedding ice depends alot on boot condition and if any Icex/IceShield has been applied. I always found the boots so-so at best, but the saving grace is the wing can pack alot on and give you time to get out of it. As for running lean of peak, I don't recommend it for the Navajo's. It's the on...

Re: equipment bid

discount carriers like WJ expanded during the last recession (2002) while Ac restructured and lay people off. Legacy carriers generally do poorly in bad times while discounters expand. That may have been the case in 2002, but the dynamics now are very different. In 2002 oil wasn't over $120 a barre...

Air North YVR

Question. Is Air North using the HS748 for the YVR-Whitehorse sched? I saw it parked at the domestic terminal in YVR the other day right at the gate. If they are going to Whitehorse with it, would they need a tech stop?

I was under the impression once someone recieves the "competitive Candidate" letter it was meant to say you are hired pending the medical. If the medical went at all poorly, I think they would explain to you why and how you can work on the issue in question. Unsure, did you recieve a PFO after the c...

Another one waiting here. Interviewed late July with no references checked as of yet. No letter either. Is it a little early to start biting the nails yet?
