Hey All
Might need a crashpad in Quebec City for three weeks to do Company Indoc and then one night every two weeks for rotation.
Anyone know of someone with room available? Any help appreciated!

Crashpad in Quebec City
Hey All
I may be doing three weeks of ground school in Quebec City, and was wondering if anyone knew of a crashpad, or had a room to rent? If everything works out, I would be into Quebec City three or four nights a month to rotate to a sub-base.
Any help appreciated!

"I'm calling from Nigeria...."
So.....I get this phone call from someone saying they are from Nigeria who wants the "Application" to our school. Didn't ask any questions about the facilities or the equipment. I mention he needs a Student Visa and he gets upset and says he just needs the application. Yes, I know its a scam. I am j...

BE02 Type Rating Question...
I got my BE02 type rating in Feb of 2009, and it just says BE02 on my licence. I got the type put on my american licence that june. Other than the FSDO asking "What the hell is a BE02?" it was easy. Transport wouln't let me put my american BE-300 Type Rating on my canadian licence though, because 'I...

Re: Tail Dragger advice...
The 170 has way too good of a view, throws me out. I learned on a Stearman and couldn't see anything until the tail was up. In the 170, you can see over the nose in the 3 point attitude. Tailup, it looks like you are about to kiss the runway.... For the Take Off, they are much better when you remebe...

Hey All Finished my Class II renewal a couple of weeks ago. Let it lapse many years ago when I went south. The renewal wasn't bad. Space Available on a Cross Country Adventure (W/instructor)
Hey All I am setting up flight to California with some commercial students. This will enable them to build some time, and we can knock out some Instrument, Night, and /or Cross-Country requirements. I can sit there quietly if you need PIC..... Two have expressed interest, looking to make it three. S...

Gettin Canadian CPL endorsed with ATR72 Rating(From Indian C
I just filled out the paperwork to get my Citation X type rating from my American licence put on my Canadian. An item from the CARS: Must have had a 'qualifying flight' the aircraft in the last 12 months. This was taken to mean a checkride. My 8410 was in November, so I was good there. I couldn't ge...

Hey Are you looking to go in circles to build time, or do you have somewhere specific in mind? I need to go from Calgary to Sacramento next month (for a week). Hoping to use a Twin Commanche. Hey All At my daughters school in California, they 'Pledge Allegience To The Flag' on fridays during assembly. She was born in the States, so if my daughter wants to sing, thats fine. Hiring 2009 predictions
I hope it doesn't become as bad in Canada as it is in the States. I got laid off after 3 years with a corporate operator (they phoned me and did it on my birthday, too!) Not much happening here if you don't want to move or have a type on a Hawker or Citation II. I lucked out and am now starting (on ...

Wyvern and Argus/US
Hey All There is a very similar thing in the U.S., the Wyvern Rating System. It sets minimums for flight crews, and training as well. Some companies require you to have an Wyvern Rating before they will charter from you. Netjets is one of them. To do a flight for them, the flight crews have to meet ...

American Pilots coming to Canada?
Hey All It has nothing to do with the licences. It is an immigration issue. The U.S. has immigration laws, so does Canada. Just as a Canadian can't work in the U.S. (yeah, yeah, there are exceptions - doctors, computer geeks, etc.), there aren't going to be a flood of Americans trying to cross the b...

Hey All I remember doing the NDB 08 in C-GFXM, and the VOR/DME 26 and looking for the Bolingbroke fuselages in the field 4 miles form the airport everytime.....good times... Hey Guzen If you already have your U.S. Licence (or 'Tourist Permit'), then ignore the validation part. I didn't see if you had a U.S. licence or not... Otherwise, the Flight Review is similar to getting a Check-Out at somewhere you haven't rented from before. Using your Canadian Medical is for the ...

Renting a 172 in the U.S.
Hey All AOPA keeps telling everyone that it is actually now known as a 'Flight Review' - not a BFR. To get your licence validated, just go to the nearest FSDO and show your licence and medical. Below are the two FARs that cover your question...(I hope!) Gord Sec. 61.56 - Flight review A flight revie...

Renewing a Instructor Rating
Hey All
I am thinking of renewing my Instructor Rating too. I had a Class II at one point, but let it expire many years ago.
My oldest brother renewed his Instuctor Rating last year, I will have to bug him to get the lowdown, and report back any interesting or helpful info!
