They used to have a 707 sim but it looks like it’s out of service now.

Re: P4C members terminated

The question is a red herring. In 2003 we were dealing with over staffing due to a merger. In the late 90’s people were upgrading to the 320 in about 3-5 years. Not that different than today. The quality of life issues on the narrow body fleet weren’t as sever then either. Today some people avoid n...

Re: P4C members terminated

"Everyone just shut up and be happy you work at AC"... Sounds familiar. And Sr pilots wonder why there's a whole separate forum just for CWIPP pilots. Go look at 2003 wages, compared to 2022 wages. Factor some inflation, housing prices since then, overall cost of living... and maybe you (sportingri...

Re: Rejecting a Job offer

Personally, I'd really like to see tangible examples of 5-7 year FO pay NB or WB, and 10 year left seat actual gross or actual take-home. There's so much misinformation. Not looking for best case possibilities or outliers but rather conservative, average income. Yes, the payscale matrixes are there...

It was conveyed by Company representatives that the CEO had to obtain Board approval to provide approval for TA1 and was challenged when he did so. The CEO used his influence and pressed his Board to provide support for the TA1 with the expectation that the Members of ACPA would accept the agreemen...

Quote me. I’ll quote you. What makes you think that pilots have the pull to set strategic aims of an airline i.e. low-cost carrier, regional subsidiaries etc.? If the company decided to violate CPA scope maybe during the pandemic it’s not worth paper it’s written on. What makes you so sure that thi...

Average age of covid deaths in Canada is 84.8 years.

Life expectancy in Canada is 82.25 years.

Most of these people aren't dying from covid, they're dying with covid.
What’s the median age of a COVID death?

The only thing I can think of is the fact they were coming in at Mach 1 and got so fixated on getting it on the runway that they got tunnel vision. But yea - it will be an interesting read for sure. It sounds like that’s exactly what happened. ATC recording has them at 3000 at 5nm final and when th...

It's not an "economic issue" at all.
Everything is an economic issue, as well as political. These duty regs are no exception.
If they weren’t an economic issue they would have been implemented eons ago.

If the fearmongers (news outlets, politicians, and social media influencers, etc) keep spreading dread and despair, it's likely the general public will exhibit the same emotions. Fair enough. There really isn’t enough positive news out there, really there isn’t any news other than COVID news. As fa...

Captain’s attitude indicator was a combined instrument.
It had both rate of turn indicator and a ball. Now I don’t recall reading anywhere that rate of turn indicator would or wouldn’t work with the GYRO flag.
Regardless of that, there were two iPads with ForeFlight AHRS. How well do they work?

Re: 2004 Pinnacle Airlines Flight 3701

It is my understanding that jet engines like undisturbed laminar air. During the stall of T-tail/rear engine airplanes air separating from the wing goes straight into the engines and causes a flameout. This also happened to a Tu-154 near Donetsk when the crew stalled the airplane in a thunderstorm a...
