Idle speed should have been checked on run-up before take off, if this had been carried out student pilots would have had no trouble at all.

No they would not pay 50 hr because some shmuck will do it for 30 hr because of his/her "love for aviation", and there lies the biggest problem in this industry, and as long as people say that and do that it will never change, its unfortunate but in this buisness it hurts you to love your job.

There is a simple solution to this ongoing problem, all AME's should just charge the exact same price of say 1200.00 all across canada, then there would be no b******* as it would cost the same everywhere, everyone is getting paid fairly, annuals are being carried out to the same standard.

yeah it is always good to check around, same for AME job in northern alberta not as sweet as it sounds has revolving door on hanger.

500.00 a day is not as bad as 35.00 hr, I charge 45.00 hr for the first 8 hrs, 60.00 hr after that, and do not have to go oversea's or the NWT, do it all right here in alberta, you do get the odd guy that will b**ch and complain but if you say you will not work for less there are people and company'...

M1 license small northern alberta operator, 6 turbine, 3 piston, 2 yrs experience 37.00 hr plus benefits after 90 days, working 8 on and 6 off, 10 hr day shifts. crew housing provided for first 3 months.

I work at a small northern alberta company 5 turbine twins and 3 piston singles our pay scale is straight out of school 18 hr, 4 dollar increase every year, freshly licensed 32 hr, top wage 37 hr, 8 days on and 6 days off, no night shift, minimal O.T. if you as a group ask for it they will pay.

as far as where us high wage guys are working I have been at 3 places in nothern alberta, have never worked for less than 30 hr for 6 years now as an AME because i refuse to, what amazes me is that in the 604 industry i get paid 60 hr yet the commercial operator thinks that he can low ball every one...

Why is it that the cost of living continues to rise yet industry still expects AME's to work for 25.00 hr. I have looked at several ad's and this seems to be the going rate, all oher mechanics make 10.00 to 15.00 hr more than our industry yet have none of the responisibility. There are 1 or 2 places...
