Lifestyle depends on the operator. I currently run a corporate flight department, and most of our flights are planned weeks in advance. Shortest notice we get to fly is 24 hrs.
Do your research and talk to crews. Not every corporate operator expects you to go at a moments notice

Re: After Hours at CYKZ?
Whenever I have to go int YKZ after hours, I just give the airport manager a call and let them know and make sure it’s ok. It’s never been an issue

Re: Plea to professional instructors
I agree there are some negatives to flight instruction and it isn't for everyone. The positives I have experienced flight instructing: -can be a LOT of fun. Sure, spending days doing laps in the circuit can be a drag, but watching a student go from zero to licensed is great -home every night. If you...

Re: Do people aspire to be corporate pilots?
Corporate aviation isn't for everyone. I will say, I wouldn't want to do anything else. I had left flying corporate to fly some big iron and left to return to corporate flying. Way more diversity in my destinations, great hotels, don't have to eat at Burger King because the per diems suck. The sched...

Navajo Groundschool, In-Flight and Group 1 Renewal
I was just curious how many people would be interested in a course offered by a flight school that provided an 8 hour groundschool on the PA31, then 4 hours of in-flight training with the option to do an Group 1 ride afterwards in the aircraft. Would there be genuine interest from people in Canada f...

Re: Six questions on training
As a current flight instructor, I agree with Tango... no one is EXPECTED to instruct, and don't just do it for a stepping stone. Make sure you LOVE instructing before you decide to go that route. Otherwise, it is not fair to any of your students. Now this doesn't mean you have to want to instruct fo...
