matwxx, if your curious of what AC mechanic's do during the daytime on thru flights, for the single aisle aircraft, it aint much unless we're called by the crew (Heavy aircraft do require pre-depart maintenance checks). It's the station attendands marshall in all aircraft, apply ground power, heater...

Actually, the MEL dictates that individual lights may be inop provided sufficient lighting remains for cabin attendants to perform their duties.

I wonder what intensity of lighting qualifies as 'sufficient'?

The rotables are valuable in the Air Canada system.

Through the grapevine...... Air France to operate a test flight (CDG - YUL) on Nov 12 2007. A380 scheduled departure CDG at 11:00am arriving Pierre Elliot Trudeau at 12:35pm. Returns to CDG Nov 15 at 10:00pm. Dedicated aircraft unknown at this time. Best spotters viewpoint for arrival (in my opinion...
