Re: Integra/Bar XH

The sister company is connect air. Transwest was doing some work for them.

As far as the King Air positions go, the majority is medevac so it is definitely not a time building job. 200 hrs a year is a good average.

Re: Accident / Incident?

The TSB has different guidelines on whether it is an incident or accident, This is from the AIM GEN 3.2: “reportable aviation accident” means an accident resulting directly from the operation of an aircraft, where (a) a person sustains a serious injury or is killed as a result of (i) being on board ...

Re: Why shouldn't I do a MIFR or ratings before CPL????

I’ve had occasions when I’ve had to do some emergency IFR flying
hmmm, wasn't there a thread not too long ago about VFR flight into unplanned IMC conditions? Oh wait, here it is!

Apparently not a good idea.

Re: Why shouldn't I do a MIFR or ratings before CPL????

Ready to do the CFI whatever gets you the job  Sorry, I couldn't resist. But honestly, I agree with BPF, get some experience first, then tackle the MIFR especially if you go the instructing route. If you are working for a flight school there is a good chance that you will get a discounted rat...

Re: Stop and Goes @ CYNJ

I saw one the other day in CYNJ where a 152 landed long on the stop and go without backtrack. Max power applied.....most of the way down the runway power to idle for a few seconds, power back to full for a few seconds, power back to idle and stopped at the very end. Ended up backtracking and using t...

Re: Instructor Student Communication

If you couldn't talk your grandmother through flying a 172, well, you might want to improve your communication skills. I guided a preacher lady a whole leg all the way down to the ground once when I chartered 172s, on her first time in the aircraft and we had a pleasant flight. Don't forget everyon...

Oh, and the 50D is the quietest there is, switch it on and you can't even here the Bose babies whining about their headache so true! What I really like is the high passive rating as well. I have been too lazy to change my batteries for the better part of a week and I can still hear myself think! Wo...

Re: How would I log the following situations in my logbook/PTR?

because its not required. I'm not saying that it isn't a good idea, i'm just saying that it is not required and it doesn't have to match the PTR and logbook. However, if there is a large discrepency between the air time in the journey log and the flight time in the personal logbook it might raise so...

Re: How would I log the following situations in my logbook/PTR?

[quote="200hr Wonder"] Your logbook and PTR should be the same and both should be the same as the aircraft logbook in terms of time. IE a 0.8 in the aircraft logbook for flight time has to be the same in both. quote] The aircraft journey log only needs to record air time. Chances are it will not mat...
