Re: Kelowna Flight Craft
With the current state of the industry where jobs are growing on trees, nobody should be even considering a job with a company which has such a deplorable reputation as Kelowna Flightcraft.

Rotations are typically 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off up north, and 2.5 to 5 months in Antarctica with some time off afterwards.
Salary was pretty bad, but perhaps that's changed a bit after being acquired by Canadian Helicopters.

Re: Jobs under 250 hours
Did you keep applying in 4 years? ...

Yes, but in waves. I'd send out what felt like 100 resumes, and then give it a rest for a few months hoping to hear from someone. After months of not hearing anything, I'd repeat the process. There's only so many companies in Canada.

Re: Jobs under 250 hours
Took me 4 years to get my first job, and that was with 300 hrs and quite an extensive aviation related employment history. Patience is key. Don't quit your day job.

Re: How to get a pilot job as a newcomer in Calgary?
Another possibility is Cargojet out of Hamilton, ON, although I could never in good conscience recommend that anyone take a job there now, given their incredibly unscrupulous business practices (they recently fired 23 furloughed AC pilots for without cause as one example). That seems to be normal i...

Seasonal Winter Jobs
Anyone aware of any companies that employ pilots seasonally for the winter? I run a seasonal summer business and would love to find some winter work that doesn't conflict with my summer work.

Re: Kelowna flightcraft questions
Even if I could, I wouldnt. Personally you can think whatever you want. Just trying to protect other pilots from ending up at a lousy company. So either you've got nothing, or you're a coward. We're all waiting on your selection. What are you protecting us from, great one? What am I protecting you ...

Pilots are treated like crap too. However, if you dont mind violating CARS you might get treated a little better.

Flight Dispatch Exams vs. IATRA
I would like to write the TC Flight Dispatch exams. I know the Aerocourse ATPL workbook quite well, as I completed the IATRA exam last week. Should I try the dispatch exams right away while the knowledge is still fresh in my mind or should I be studying additional material first?

Re: MONEY!
After being laid off from Canada 3000/Royal Airlines in 2001, I went on EI. Because of that I was able to get a grant from the Alberta Government to finance ALL my training. (Already had my PPL). I received in the neighborhood of $20000, plus they paid my rent and living expenses while i was training.

IATRA Exam
I'm looking for suggestions on what's the best way to prepare for the IATRA exam. I'm considering Aerocourse (which I took for my IFR and was pleased) or online ground school. How difficult is this exam?

Low time jobs in BC
I'm a low time pilot (305 hrs.) looking for work anywhere in BC, preferably in the kootenays. I have a group 1 IFR and 50 hours multi. Any ideas as to where to start looking?
