Re: Dodgey.......
Hey Swervin: Nope; there wasn't a landing gear there when I was. We had the dump across the runway that we used to burn all the trash etc; but no spare airplane parts. Probably had a better chance of finding stuff under the floor of my staff cabin; aka The Swamp lol. Had a good time up there and if ...

Re: Dodgey.......
I worked for Dusty and Doc about a dozen years ago too. They were great to work with; and I know they aren't on here trying to get away with anything Dodgy. It's probably just a posting error on their part. It's a great starter job for anyone that just got their licence. The interesting thing is bas...

Re: Accident in Fort Severen
I hated that F*$#ing pusher ice mode. I know of two pilots that had it push it 200 ft on approach. I know it is in the checklist to ensure prop de-ice off, but sometimes shit gets forgotten or missed, and this can be a fatal one. I never used the prop de-ice, period. I know half of you think I am an...

Definitely Marty Fogel. Or you can drive to Thunder Bay and see Old Doc. Lower. That guy is awesome too.

Enjoy it Wolfe! Just work hard, keep a good attitude and use common sense and you'll go far in your new surroundings! My time spent in Sioux Lookout were the nest times of my career believe it or not! Some of my best friends, that I still keep in touch with to this day were based up there as well. P...

Go hang out in the old NACAir Hangar parking lot. They aren't using it.
Wasaya might try and charge you rent though.

Re: Air Hart, float rating
I was there in the fall of 2001 (yes I'm dating myself now). Right after 9/11, so unfortunately the 50 hours program wasn't enough to guarantee a job at the time with the new insurance minimums. This had nothing to do with Trevor and his program though. I imagine the operators are changing their hir...

Re: Where did the NAC pilots go?
I think that a few of them decided to take the route of their former owners. They were unemployed, had nothing to do with their lives now. So they got a P.O. for a 9 seater, took it up north, and held a conference with the leaders of a couple of the communities that pulled the plug on their liveliho...

Re: NACair OPERATIONS HAVE CEASED AT THIS TIME.
Thunder Bay's iFids system is showing all of NAC's flights 'on time' for Jan.14. I would assume this is YQT's airport system three days behind reality or did the entire world just turn around for NAC again?? You know, I have a lot of friends that were still working at NAC that I have been trying to...

Hey Pie Lot, I agree with what you are saying. Let me ask you. What would you do if you were Air Canada? If you had 1000 willing to pay $500 for something that normally costs $100 would you still charge them $100. If you picked the $100 answer then you shouldnt go into business. Like i said.I agree...

There is still Tango fares available on that flight. Just not if you are getting off in YXE, but if you are getting off in YEG then Tango and all the rest are available. This is on the same plane and flight number. And by the way, I book one and two day notice fares all the time on Tango pricing. Ha...

CID: You're still missing it. I think most people are. I know about booking early and all the rest. Trust me. This isn't about booking early etc. It's about $800 more to go a shorter distance on the same plane continuing on to YEG And no, they would not charge me more for getting off in YXE. I would...

Everyone: Listen!! I am not talking about the fares being high for Grey Cup! That is a no brainer. I am saying to take the same aircraft to Saskatoon is $1300. If you stay on that same plane. Same Aircraft, same flight number. Not just the same airline. If you book that flight number to Edmonton, th...

Mitch: You missed the whole point, mutt. I'm not here to talk about fares and wages. I'm talking about deliberately screwing over a group of sports fans. Hey, if you're going to the Grey Cup we'll charge you an extra $800 than the guys going to Edmonton for whatever reason. It's the same plane, flig...

AC - This is just wrong!!
Talk about obvious price gouging. This shit should be illegal! As a CFL fan, trying to book a flight, I looked at AC and Westjet to get my Dad out to YYZ for the big game as he is a huge Bomber Fan. Miraculously the fares had all doubled right after the Win yesterday. Now I understand supply and dem...

I don't know where you are looking. I was in YTH doing sched this week. Our YTH based plane was there flying sched also. I would gladly join an association. This would be a forum for pilots and operators to discuss various issues and try to come to some agreements that are mutually beneficial. It is a good opportunity for one side to hear the other sides point of view. It has to go both ways. But in the end companies ...

Thanks to the great people in the hamilton office for the speedy process. (2days vs. YWG 3-4 months) Hey: Winnipeg was backed up this summer and it was just over 2 weeks for me to get my ATPL signed off. I dont think all pilots today are without tools. Even at 100ft in YQT we could glide back on a LOC, beacon OBS for awareness. You can do " WHAT " from 100 feet??? I didn't mean we could glide back if the engine quit at 100 ft. I meant if the ceiling was 100ft we have the ability to glide back on th...
