Re: Operated by/Exploité par Air Canada

Looks like new aircraft livery will be released today after shareholders votes with the "Operated by/Exploité par Air Canada" showing on side fuselage. That is a CTA requirement if a codeshare flight is operated by an operator on a separate operating certificate. Still to be determined how m...

We all knew it was coming, a shark will never let go it’s prey.

Now they just have to convince the government which shouldn’t be to hard provided their close proximity with said government.

Then Goodbye Transat, 2-5 years from now you won’t see any leftovers.😜

Re: 2018 Pilot Hiring

Anyone interviewed since last job posting in march received a call back or GS date?

Since portal is now close, are they still hiring throughout summer and planning GS every month?

Re: Time for Transat pilot future poll

I’m surprised to see such close result and BOTL been the very last.

Did ACPA and other Canadian pilot finally learn from past mistakes? I guess will see next year where everyone are standing. 🤔

Time for Transat pilot future poll

Now that AC is within 30 days of purchasing Transat, I guess it is time for a poll to see what do you think will happens to Transat pilots if this deal goes through. :?:

ALL Canadian company CBA are publicly available on this Canadian Government website.
Most recent CBA could take couple of months to be posted but eventually they all end up in this library. 😉

Anyone got the call yet for the last add that came out last week or are they still looking through resumes?
Nothing so far. I guess they will probably begin interview in April since they say it was for June GS. Anyway good luck all and fingers crossed for me. 😜

I maybe wrong, but does the new labour laws in Ontario state equal pay for equal work?
It does, just like other law in other province. But flying is done under federal rule and the federal working law are about a 100 years old. So no provision for this.

Re: Bargaining idea

Those are huge difference in treatment based only on your date of hire. Pure and unfair discrimination. Lol. Hope you don’t have an application in with AC. If so you’re going to hate it. No I don't, as long as AC don't recognize our experience either I won't send my resume in, you happy? 55k/years ...

Re: Bargaining idea

As to your desire for EQUAL PAY for EQUAL work... Are you suggesting that a Day 1 pilot should earn the same as a 25 year veteran? I never suggested such a dumb idea. Thats the purpose of a pay scale to factor in experience. But there is no reason for a B scaller to have to show more then 20...

Re: Bargaining idea

It has been said over and over again. All those who signed up to work at Jazz on the current CA (Post 2015) knew exactly what they signed up for. (...) Bold and untrue statement. New 2015 CA was ratify somewhere in January or February. And Effective July 1st july 2015. But Jazz held GS in March the...

Re: Bargaining idea

Hello again, glad to see my crazy idea had a lot of echo, some bad and some good. I'll try to forget all the personal attack witch I was expecting anyway since it's a normal defence mechanism when you feel your loosing control. First of all let me reassure some of you and try to aim the discussion b...

Re: Bargaining idea

...the new contract is basically a three year delay, after three years you are on the old contract pay scale. A freeze to the old wages will catch up to you after three short years, which for many they will already be a Captain. That's something I'll have to look into, it's not what I heard. Now fo...

Re: Bargaining idea

Your maid vs. pilot analogy is weak. Most people don't envision a career in cleaning up rooms. They do it to put a roof over their head, food on the table, for them and possibly their kids. Don't like the analogy because you know it's true. You didn't talk about my Doctor analogy or take any other ...

Re: Bargaining idea

Better yet, if you know what the wages are, just don't apply in the first place. That initiative alone with broad support will have the quickest and most significant impact on the compensation Jazz must offer to attract new-hire Pilots. Same theory applies to any other tier 2 carrier offering low b...

Re: Bargaining idea

I think the fact is a tonne of Jazz flying would have left for sky and GGN if they did not create another scale. It’s not as simple as the old generation screwed the new one. Anyways, if you really want to do your part, all you new B scale pilots. Don’t work OT. Everyone is chomping at the bits to ...

Re: Express Pilots VS Mainline Pilots

Why does pilot think bigger is better? Because like it or not that’s where the best pay and lifestyle lies, especially with time. Maybe I’m getting older but all I care about are really two things. 1. How much do I make. 2. How much time do I need to spend at work to get it. Having fun at work “han...

Re: Express Pilots VS Mainline Pilots

Why does pilot think bigger is better? If we change the way we think about our profession and stop seeing regional flying as a stepping stone to a false paradise maybe things could change. Not every pilots want to be stranded in a cockpit for 10 hrs straight flying tiring overseas leg and looking at...

Re: ? how many jazz or wj encore f/o's hold...

Fairly easy math, both encore and Jazz have monthly credit between 75 to 85 and hourly rate between 36$ to 38$ for FO. So multiply credit by hourly rate and voilà you have your take home pay pre-tax. In both case they are quite low unless you enjoy WDO or second job as a bartender and forget about l...
