Re: Asian imports replacing contractors at Cascade??
What goes around comes around, Boys in Afghanistan will not not like the idea of cheap labour being brought in to overhaul the aircraft that supports thier missions and in some cases saves thier lives. I wonder how many officials and media know about this. "Headline, Air Canada guys laid off... have...

Re: Buffalo Airways Yellowknife
I also worked for Buffalo, not for the fainted heart, hard work and smarts is the only thing that most people in this company respect. Good money, some of the best mechanics I have ever worked with. I have heard alot of bad stories about Joe but I have never had a personal problem with him, always t...

Re: Kenn Borek Info
I think that your first few rotations will be in the Maldives, about three months out and one month off, and about 6000 a month for pay, and I hear that you also get a tax credit because you are not technically working in Canada. Tough, stressfull work but really good experiance and OK pay. I think ...

Re: Asian imports replacing contractors at Cascade??
Bunch of bull crap alot of AMEs out there who work in the north that would like to live in B.C. where it is warmer, hard to do this when cheap overseas labor is being brought in. What about the out of work AIR CANADA guys?? How does Cascade get away with this?? I am sympathetic to the fellow who los...

Also, I am not new at this, which I think some of you may think I am. I have been at this for about 12 years have held middle management positions, and have gleaming referances and worked in various places around the country.

Re: engineer money
I also agree, you do need to have a reputation. What I am saying is that it seems 75% of the companies out there are more than eager to pay you as little as possible, no matter what your position is or your work ethic or reputation. If people in the industry do not try to seek out the really good pa...

Re: engineer money
So I gather that most who replied are more than happy to be paid less than what you are worth, just like pilots who work for free! I am sorry but that is the kind of attitude that degrades the industry and it is why wadges are as low as they are for engineers, I am sure there are alot of AMEs out th...

Re: canadian north maintenance
I know that they do contract some of thier maint. out, but they do have a number of AMEs on staff. I did phone and inquire, but that left me more unsure of whats going on.
