Re: Aviation Museums

I took a few days last week and went down toWashington DC to visit the National Air and Space Museum, as well as the Udvar-Hazy Center. Both were incredible. I spent a full day at each location, and still felt i could have gone back the next day. Being a cheap-o, the price was right as well, since a...

Re: Life / Disability Insurance

I'm kind of curious myself. After looking at the website above, it claims to only cover up to $300K. That will bearly cover my mortgage, let alone anything else. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Nova Scotia Gevernment to study moving Waterville Airport.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/story/2012/05/01/ns-michelin-airport-study.html This is outrageous. It’s just a ploy by the province to attempt to close the airport and use the land for profit. Do they not realise the amount of business the valley receives because of access by the airport?...

...but on the aircraft I fly, you cannot land with the auto feather on. It is only for a takeoff... In a go around, Autofeather is useless... I find this interesting...could you elaborate? In my BE20 the autofx is armed for t/o and landing, but I appreciate there is more than one way to design a sy...

Re: Do Twin Otters Have Autofeather?

One thing to note. If this is in relation to the Twin Otter accident reciently, I don't believe auto feather would have helped from what I understand. It appears the accident occured on a go around, after a landing attempt. I know nothing of the Twin Otter, but on the aircraft I fly, you cannot land...

Re: Brazil convicts US Pilots - suspends sentence - GOL Mida

The American pilot's didn’t change altitudes. They were SUPPOSED to change altitudes over a certain waypoint along their flight plan (as they had filed it), but since they lost ATC communication, they were not instructed to change altitudes as they would have been in the US. On the screen at the Bra...

Re: Any cruisers in the crowd?

I've been on 5 Cruises, planning the 6th right now. Best vacation ever! I always do my research online with the actual cruise company's website, and then I call my cruise travel agent. She's amazing. Most of the time she can get me a cheaper rate then the company lists on their website. I've been ch...

I for one am grateful that there are people like this out there... In ten years time, when my liver gives out, it’s the generosity of people like this that ensure a steady stream of organ’s for donation. The next time you see someone acting like this, take the time to honk and say thank-you.

I was just thinking the other night, while my AC is broken and I couldn't sleep cause it's so damn hot, if there is any standard to what side of the bed most men sleep in with their wife/girlfriend... Maybe this is too personal, I donno... I just realised the when I think of the few cases where I'm ...

Re: VFR Flight CNC3 (Burlington) to St. John NB

One thing I don't think anyone has mentioned is that if you plan to fly through US airspace, even with no intention of landing, you must be on a flightplan, not an itinerary. You must also have a discrete transponder code (I.E. be assigned something other than 1200 by ATC). If you decided not to fil...
