Well since this is something I am very interested in as well I take all your advise to heart. If some one could please recomend a few doctors with very good reputations in the Calgary or Southern Alberta Area it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I had the pleasure of flying many search and rescue excercises with Herluf. I will miss him dearly.

Re: Cat 1 Renewal
Depends how old you are? For my last one you just pee in a cup prove you have 20/20 vision and they wisper in the corner to figure out if you can hear. Other than that just a general check up nothing fancy.

Re: instructor hours a month
I like your point of view but the problem I'm having lately is that the students aren't smart enough to pick things up that fast and if you take them up and do the teaching without procedure memorization they just get over whelmed and give up. It's probably been a year since I've had a student compe...

Get the ATPL books. It's a tough exam, they take all the ATPL materiel and only ask a few questions about it. Study up!

Re: Fail 2nd Time
If you tried to test all 30 exercises you would be in the air for 3 hours. Who could concentrate for that long, you would have to do it in 3 flights.

Re: Fail 2nd Time
We all have to remember that all transport exams are all more like an english test over anything else. If she still want's to give it another shot buy a book directed at instructor ratings. I like . books but I'm not sure if they publish a Instructor one or not. But as mentioned in previous post you...

Has it really become such an addiction that they must resort to using flight planning computes to play on facebook, really. Buy an iPhone.

Re: instructor hours a month
What do you mean by billable hours? I guess I've been working about 32 hrs. a week of dispatch and answering the phone that kind of stuff? More that then flying. Just holding in there till I get my thousand hours, I've been told that's the magic number to get right seat some where.

Re: commercial pilot licence
I found it the easiest to find a school with a aviation diploma program. They are most likely to help you make a schedule and stick with it. I got my CPL signed off at 200hrs on the nose and Class 4 instructor with 230hrs. It worked really well but it depends if you like a structured program or just...

Well I can't say anything for medium or large schools but stay away from the little ones. I got 25 hrs last month and maybe only 50 the month before. It's a tough market out there.

Re: Calgary Flying Club or Calgary Flight Training Centre?
If your just looking for a flight school in general there's a great little school in Okotoks, Skywings. Only 2 airplanes but you can almost book an airplane the next day and there is hardly ever traffic. It's super quiet and they have really nice and talented instructors there.

Re: First Officer C208 (Sunwest Aviation Ltd - call backs?
I applied on the 28th of december and when I called to follow up the application the HR lady (who was very nice on the phone) told me she had recieved 300 applications. With that many I have no idea how anyone could go though them all. If any one did get called I would have to assume they were lucky...

Re: IATRA Exam
I bought the books for the ATPL and they have it split up great into ATPL and and IATRA sections. I haven't written yet but I'm feeling pretty ready for it.
