I really hope they ask the french pilots to be bilingual, it would seem like speaking a bit of english might be somewhat helpful in aviation...?

Re: Hiring?

The posting is back up, and they've dropped the "bilingualism is an asset" from the ad!

Air Transat drops french requirement from job posting

For as long as I can remember the job ads for Air Transat would always include "bilingualism is an asset". The new job posting no longer shows it! Air Transat has been hiring unilingual Anglos for years but they kept that line in the add to appease the old guard. Times are changing. https://www.tran...

Re: Air Transat hiring..

http://atwonline.com/leasing/air-transat-lease-four-737s-winter-2014-15 So 4 738 during summer season, and 12 narrowbodies during the winter season. I'm guessing the new positions available won't be year-round employement. If you read to the end of the article it says: In 2015, Air Transat plans to...

I've wondered the same thing. We couldn't get an answer in 2010 either!

ESDC changes TFW program for airline pilots

This is good news. Too bad it won't affect applications already submitted, ie companies that plan on using foreing pilots this winter. However, this door began to close today. Straight from the ESDS web page today. Foreign Pilots in Canada In recent years, concerns have been raised that some airline...

Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots, Winter 2013-201

It is true. From a very high up inside source. There will be TravelService pilots in Transat flight decks next winter. Let's see if Gilles keeps up his fight then... How about this Rogerdoger2. If Transat brings in foreign pilots and Gilles does keep up the fight, you have to shut your Christmas Ca...

Re: On-Line poll about the foreign pilot issue

Why does it matter if this is fasken's first post or 50th? How funny is it that fasken is getting support from another guy who clearly had to make up 2nd account to hide who he really is too! I'm suprised the mods didn't ban you after your first post. Rogerdoger2, fasken, you know you are on the wr...

"A change in market dynamics". "current market conditions". Polite ways of saying, "The fact that TUI through Sunwing is dumping foreign planes and pilots on the Canadian market means more Canadians out of work." Sorry to hear this guys. Write to your MPs, I think this debate is starting to get trac...

Re: Air Transat interview - Potential lay off in the fall???

It's pretty simple. If Sunwing doesn't saturate the southern market by bringing in 200+ FOREIGN pilots in the fall, Transat won't have to lay off the CANADIAN guys and gals who just got their start.
