Re: More WJ layoffs
I find it concerning the division it’s creating among the groups The primary reason the 4 western LEC voted down the last "offer" was solely based on the unscrupulous manner in which the MEC Chair and the Grievance Chair went around the NC to conduct a backdoor deal with the company. The 4 LEC vote...

Re: More WJ layoffs
WestJet seems too focused on how to game the employees. They're giving up market share, canceling orders, while others are expanding and placing new orders. Although the tendency by employees is to usually blame the big bad company when things don’t go their way, it is simply not so in this case an...

Re: Encore Recalls
Umm, I'm not entirely sure that is correct. This recall happened after the reduction bid was finalized. As I said, I'm not sure how this will pan out in the end, but by Westjet (Encore) conducting a recall right after the reduction bid, left many mainline pilots unemployed. Very dirty tactics, but I...

Re: Encore Recalls
They have just updated the recall, it’s now 224 pilots, this does not include the WJ pilots bumping into Encore. I have no idea how this is going to workout.

There are mandated recalls at Encore stipulated in their MOA. Currently 50 pilots are being recalled.

Re: More WJ layoffs
I don't think WJ is paying for the the Miami training, could be wrong, but I think it's on Boeing's dime. Why is there such a rush to pump approx. 1000 pilots for 13 tails?

Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement
Unless it is stated in a labour agreement, than it is 12 months. Pilots are protected as your CBA states 120 months. My understanding for this is the law, right now, states that anyone on a LOA for 6 months is then required to be paid a severance from the company. Asking for a let on this is to all...

Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement
ummm, sacrifice? Ya right. There was no choice to made, it was made for everyone. If there was a vote, then maybe. Don't forget some of the most senior also are spouting off how they will take OT while fellow pilots are on the street.

Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement
You have to ask yourself which way was cheaper for the company? The current PSB with 1700 layoffs or this new scheme and new PSB bid. Whichever one was the cheaper option came at the expense of the pilots.

The cuts were deep. Did very many Encore guys get to stay? I hope this is short lived and we’re back to normal soon. Good luck everyone and stay safe.
Re: One list
Nothing is for sure until they’re are actually Jet guys in the Dash sim. I think they’re are more games to be played yet.

Re: MOA2
No one is expecting 737 wages in the Dash. Don’t be stupid. If you can’t see changing the playing field so late in the game, and making the conditions so unattractive is not bargaining in good faith, well I can’t debate with you. The unintended consequence of protecting your own will be the death of...

Re: MOA2
This MOA is going to high light unintended consequences. Moving the goal posts at the 11th hour. Fair enough to look out for your own. We’ll see how the majority feels when the dust settles.
