Just wanted to add a bit more info. The supervisors all sites are one level higher than those working the radios. The E site supervisors (F) scale is $72,140- $91,148 as well as some non op positions. Top non op position (G) $79,525-$101,684. Also, on May 1st 2016, you can add 2.5% to all pay scales.

You answered your own question. If you state the name of the ground station, you are directing communications, not broadcasting.

If you start your communications by saying "Boundry Bay Tower...." you're directing communications. If it's "Boundry Bay Traffic...." you're broadcasting. Look, I just saved you time. No need to get back to me or think about it anymore.

Your radio broaddcasts, you direct communications to the tower. That's the difference.

When operating within a MF, it is your responsibility to see and avoid other traffic. It may suck at times but them's the rules. FSS has no responsibility and in fact no ability to separate traffic.
