Re: Passenger comfort??????????????????????

If you feel that way take the other airline? Good one! You must work for AC with a response like that. That exact response is why WestJet is Canada's airline. Air Canada gets buisness because people don't always have the option to fly with anyone else. And I assume you fly for WS? Look, we (WS) are...

Re: the new agreement

Gals and guys, Perhaps I was a little harsh. I can accept that, but I do stand behind my reasoning. A Captain is a Captain, regardless of time with the company, do you agree? Same responsibility. You might get a little smoother, more efficient, but you are still going from A to B safely. We don't se...

[quote="Ryan Coke2 If that is the best argument you can come up with, we'll never get it. :smt012 1 for 2 would be a good tradeoff. 1 for 1 would be nice, but it is somewhat generous. Re: the new agreement

Opinion time: We NEED to allow us (the FO's  ) to slide over with years of service. Why? Because after 6 years at least (for some), it needs to be an incentive to take on the extra responsibility. Once the new scales for FO's get sorted out, why would a 6,7,or 8 year FO want to come over to th...

Re: Laser beam hits WestJet pilot in the eye on Calgary takeoff

Ummm, I work for WS, and I kinda agree with Rebel (ducks for cover..) IF he/she said they were fit to carry on, then why the check-up at the other end? As a precaution? Too late, damage (if any) done. IF he/she had any inclination that there had been any side effects from the laser, then land. End o...

Hey zimmer,

Don't sweat it. That's the way the world works sometimes. Some companies want this, some what this, that and the other. There will be an oppourtunity for you somewhere, just keep your chin up.

Just cross North-Wright off your list and continue looking, you will get something.

Re: CAW Talking to Westjet?

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Southwest unionized? They continue to post a profit, and their drivers are some of the best paid guy/gals in the industry for their fleet size. They have variable work schedules and (seem to) have a great work environment too. So Unions are good or bad? Would the ...

KAG: You cannot base your view of Unions from your very short stint at Jazz. You are basing your take on an upset group of people at a huge amalgamation of regional airlines. How long until the senior blokes here start piping up and demanding for Christmas and such off? I for one would appreciate (a...

Re: Sunwing expands like Jetsgo

I am a WS guy. I am embarassed....... Westjet has done its fair share of cheap seats. We continue to flood the market with "our" price point - the price where we make money. This does not necessarily make it the "market" price. If we can make money at a certain price, but it is less than what the pu...

Respectfully ., you still ended up paying the fee. You can't outrun it. You cannot gain any satisfaction from the measley 50 bucks can you? You gotta "pay to play", it is no different in other fields. I do agree with you, it is a silly charge, but it is there, it is THEIR requirement, so I pay it. N...

What, are you kidding me?

I could care less what they charge for cell phones. Don't like it, don't buy one..

If you need it for work, your employer will re-imburse you.

It is not a necessity to own a cell phone....

Have fun.......
