Re: Will I EVER get over this?
All of the above sugestions are excellent ones but might I suggest one more. Get your instructor to take you into a grass strip so that you know what it feels like to have something other than asphalt under your tires and see the practicle reasons for learning soft/short field proceedures. Might hel...

I agree with Grimey, but I think a lot af crime in TO goes unreported due to the huge ethenic population; some of which do not trust the cops. The gun crimes are always re reported as per Commandant Millar.

Re: Seneca College Baron Gear Up Landing
I may not have attended a University Flight College (although I did go to university) and did my initial twin training in an older seminole instead of a spiffy baron, I do know one thing: I would never ever not clean up a piston twin after takeoff and tempt fate at the most crucial time of the fligh...

Some Canadians think that our citizens can go to any country they like , do what ever they please and when they get into trouble our government should bail them out and bring them home to be coddled by our judicial system. I don't think the Yanks are going to fall for that one. Listening to this pun...

Driving with very little fuel in the tank is hard on a tank mounted fuel pump as it overheats. Save yourself the 2 or 3 hundred $'s to replace it by filling up at 1/4 full.

Cat Driver, I think my instuctor knew full well that restart problems were indeed likely. He didn't want the engine down for long and it wasn't. What I think IS stupid was the the FTU knew full well that engines were being shut down in winter but still kept the policy. Perhaps they thought it was man...

Re: We have trashed the full load thing....now lets do this one
Had a heck of a time restarting a Seminole's engine when I was multi training in December. Pretty much resigned to heading back on one but gave it "one more spin" and it fired.
