Help your fellow pilot (Pride Aviation)

I see that a string has been started on this posting but there are no serious replies. Does anyone know of this outfit or who is affiliated with it in Toronto or Winnipeg. Perhaps the individual/company can provide some additional details on who they are, which specific airport they are based at, et...

Does Transport really do anything about these types of problems. I'm wondering how many guys must have stepped up and had something to say about this and still nothing. I'm becoming more and more convinced that TC doesn't really do anything except dictate CARs and try to weasle out of the 'interpret...

Japanese Licensing

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I'm trying to find the licensing requirements for a Japanese license. Does anyone know where to find the requirements to hold a commercial? I've tried looking at the JCAB (Japanese Civil Aviation Buruea) site but no information there. Any info would be app...

Hawker 800 Pilots

Can anyone give me a sense of the salaries for a Hawker 800 Captain and FO in the Vancouver/Montreal/Toronto/Calgary areas? Thanks for the info in advance.

Hicks and Lawrence?

Has anyone submitted and heard back from Hicks and Lawrence? I talked to a guy on the phone who said that their training should be starting around the second week of April. Just wondering if they were still sifting through resumes or all the hiring has already been done. I have been told that everyo...

It's funny that you mention a HO. What I see happens with/from the more "seasoned" pilots. I'm talking about guys with 2000-3000 hrs turbine doing for a jet gig. The same still goes for a guy trying to get into a turbine from piston. -: Not really trying to piss off anyone.....just curious since my ...

Pyleosnow: Is it really that 90% of pilots are trying to get ahead and so they are resorting to paying for PPCs/type ratings or is becoming the "unspoken" norm that no one wants to come out and say but is happening everywhere. As a consequence of this train of thought, then why don't we have specifi...

How long does a rookie stay a rookies?

I've been watching a few threads that refer to the idea of paying for PPCs.....time-building on twins/jets in the US, etc. I work in the Ops dept of a charter operator and we were talking about a particular recent thread that refers to a company where pilots are required to pay their way. Funny thin...

WHOOOOOAAAAAA!!!!! I'm, not taking sides.....yet  but I'm with Avro2 on this. I thought the whole point of this forum was to provide an open and reasonable mode of communication. I know there's a lot of "personalities" on here but then we wouldn't really be pilots if we didn't have any of t...

Nordo, very well said. I'm amazed at how little response I'm getting to this thread. And here I thought that most of the individuals that post on some of these threads were just always trying to stir up a big sh*tstorm.

So far it sounds like we're all on the same page. Sakism...I'm with you on this one. Microsoft flight sim or any other flight sim.....is there really a difference? Just because I'm a class IV doesn't mean that I don't have any instructing experience. I have over 1000 hrs instructing, I have passed 2...

Quality Multi IFR Instruction

This is a new thread to allow instructors who feel they can do a good job with a student an opportunity to present themselves. A great thread was started - "Instructors and Schools"- and I think that some valid points have been made but there are some "conditioned responses" apparent even in some of...

Anyone consider that maybe North America's view of how you should get into aviation is changing. I'm not saying that I agree/disagree with the whole thing (that's another topic and another argument!). But how is it that operators in Europe and the Caribbean, Asia and Africa are able to put new drive...

I've just done some pretty deep digging and looked into the Buttonville base, everything is on hold (info from within) and doesn't look like anything will happen permanently there.....not going too well I guess. They are most likely going to relocate the 100 to YOW or YUL...... Hope this helps anyon...
