Re: Vacation passangers age and health demographic

Convid 19 Considering the old age and unhealthy demographic of a lot of sunspot vacation passengers, will the vacation world return to normal. A lot of passangers heading to Cuba and Florida are old and a lot are just straight up unhealthy with all kinds of issues. Often times I look at some and th...

Re: Are recently laid off pilots hireable

Depends on the company. Why would Cargojet hire a lower time non jet pilot when they can hire a high time boeing pilot who will have no issues with training or line indoc and can be online in a minimal amount of time? Thye might only get them for 6 months but the spike in demand for cargo might onl...

Re: Unlimited Travel Pass

Possibly my favourite part of all this is Flair’s announcement of the sale on Facebook. You don’t have to scroll too far through the comments before you get to people complaining that Flair doesn’t offer service to/from where they want to go and what’s Flair going to do to remedy this??!! Obviously...

It seems like Flair is either trying a tactic that has proven itself a failure in the past, or they are very desperate for money.

You mean like Swoop’s recently announced $1 Loonie sale? Flair is doing well and filling seats.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Do have a timeline for call backs for interviews? Sounds like a great long term opportunity.

Re: Why can they get passenger rights but no proper rest and fatigue rules?

Companies are in dire need of pilots. The last thing they need is a set of rules that requires hiring more pilots. And you’re right, nothing will be done until the politicians have to explain a smoking hole in the ground.

We're recruiting a limited amount of DEC's at the moment as well though it hasn't been officially posted.

Interested captain's can submit through the F/O link and mention it in the cover letter.
Why the need for DEC’s. Are there no F.O.’s that can be upgraded to Captain?

Re: Flairs troubles......

If they bought them outright and now plan on retiring the lot this quickly, that’s gonna be a nasty accelerated depreciation hit on the books. If they had planned to switch to NG’s this quickly in the program, they should have maintained the operational and financial flexibility of operating leases...

Re: Porter Airlines at 55?

A friend of mine interviewed at Porter and they actually did ask him what his age was. When a Chief Pilot asks to see your aviation medical, your age becomes known, so they do not need to ask, therefore there is no opportunity for one to say that they were discriminated against due to their age. Hav...

Re: Morningstar

What’s this “pool” BS. You can’t tell people you have vacancies and then shove them in a pool to hold with other applicants so you can cherry pick when convenient when the time comes. How many of those people would have found jobs by then anyway? You need a vacancy filled? Post an ad with a closing...

I have close to double their requirements and applied recently to an ad and never heard You’re not the only one. This might be a PASCO 2.0 Morningstar has a solid reputation in this industry, so I would doubt that. With all the movement in the industry, it may be good planning to have a pool of qua...

Did they pay for the course and you bailed before they could recoup their costs? Most places have a course setup prior to interview, as long as he didn't sign back the job offer or give them money, he should be alright financially. Reputation, depending on how professionally he handled, it is quest...

I don't know this company, but I can't understand what people are complaining about - other than the bond - expecting a 1 year commitment on initial I get, but renewals? Really? Is that true? Anyway, it seems reasonably laid out and a pretty decent job/lifestyle for an up and comer who is probably ...
