Re: Transat

I don't understand people who complain about a company requiring a second language! This isn't discrimination people, this is a skill requirement that they are asking for. Your nationality, gender etc.... are traits you are born with, a language is a skill that can be acquired, there is a big differ...

Wabusk Air Chief Pilot?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows who the current chief pilot is at Wabusk Air. There is a discrepancy between Pilot Career Centre and the company website. PCC claims to have updated personnel on Jan.7, 2013. If anybody is in the know and willing to share it would be much appreciated. feel free t...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

:?: Hey Guys, Regarding the Perimeter application. At the end of the application there is a section to attach your resume. The attachment must contain only one word doc, I gather I can put my references on a second page as well as listing those applicable in the employment history section. With rega...

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the newbie question, will jazz be repainting all of their aircraft with the new express paint scheme? If so how long do they expect it to take?

thanks

Re: Bearskin commuting?

Commuting would be a disaster because no one flies yqt-yow direct. With the current scheds, you would at least need a crashpad in yqt for about 10 nights/month. You get 12 days off/month (usually 3, 2, 1, 6 days off blocks) so then you could jumpseat to yow for the 3, 2, and the 6 blocks if you wan...

Bearskin commuting?

Hi, I was wondering if there are any current or former bearskin pilots who would know whether commuitng from YOW, is a possibility. I'm guessing it would be possible given that YOW is part of the route structure howerver it isn't very close to any of the bases. Bearskin does have agreements with AC,...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

Or you could apply now. The ramp manager doesn't care if you have an IATRA  I will throw my opinion in the ring, but the others have pretty much touched on the issues I wanted to. -As a Class 4 you won't get a job Multi-IFR instructing. Working full time ramp and part time instructing will get...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

Hey guys thanks for all the help. Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting that I would get a ramp position at Perimeter and try to instruct elsewhere on the side. Whichever path I take I intend to give it my full commitment. I thought I had read somewhere that some instructors at Perimeter also did shi...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

As others had mentioned 1000TT and a class 3 instructor ratings are the bare minimum to get on with the school. While some people get on with that amount of hours - more people are at least several hundred above the minimums. Anyhow as far as Perimeter works if you really want to work here you need...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

What do you mean by speed up the atpl? Well if you are to start as an F/O with 250tt, you would need to log 2500 to get the required 1500 for the atpl, which would probably take 3+ years right? I have no problem with that but I have heard some operators will help piots log some PIC hours on empty l...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

I've only observed P from across the ramp, and 2nd hand from friends who have worked there. I'd imagine that if you were to start on the ramp, you'll be pretty busy working, and might find it difficult to hold down a 2nd job instructing. Realistically, as an instructor, you'd want to get on somewhe...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

Too lazy to look it up again but I don't think you can teach multi fir with 250 hours... Even if you could, perimeter prides themselves on being professional and most instructors have well over 1000. Ramp is your best/only bet. Thanks BEFAN5, for those who start on the ramp at 250tt, does perimeter...

Re: Any current info on perimeter?

Hey guys, This thread has definitely peaked my interest in Perimeter. I currently have 250TT with a class 4 instructor rating. I intend to add the IATRA asap. Once the IATRA is done would I have a chance at an instructor position at Perimeter? I would be willing to work the ramp as well but would ho...

Re: Flight Crew Positions Voyageur

When you are working overseas rotations are you permitted to fly commercially when you return for your 8 weeks back in Canada (ie instructing on the side). There is nothing specifically prohibiting it. There are some bases where there is very little flying, and I wouldn't see it interfering with yo...

Re: How long did it take you to get your instructor rating?

I started at the end of march this year and just did the ride last wednesday, so 6.5 months almost 7. Went on vacation twice for a total of about 2 weeks, my instructor also went away for 2 weeks so lost a month on that. Aside from that a busy insructor meant I was usually only able to book twice pe...
