Re: How much convincing do you need???

I'm pretty sure the rate is far higher than 1 in 100000. It is also appears to be age stratified but this might be confounded by the likelihood that we are not tying myocarditis and cardiac events in the elderly to vaccine (because we assume age is responsible). The best research on the VAERS under ...

Re: Risk vs reward on the vaccine

You created this account simply to post bullshit antivax nonsense because you have no idea about science, or you don't care, or you're some russian troll. Wow dude. Just wow. So you won't engage the points with data or logic. Instead you just want to smear and gaslight people calling them anti-vax ...

Re: Canadian Govt to bail out Bombardier.

For all it's faults, capitalism has worked fairly well considering the big picture. I support, reluctantly, the banking bailouts -- loans -- whatever, because the credit markets were completely frozen, which means the economy ceased to function. The US had no choice in that regard, and US banks hav...

Re: Liberals to lift foreign ownership of domestic airlines

Foreign investment brings lower wages? Have you looked at the average pilot wage in Canada lately? Why do you think they are so low? There are a few who earn good wages but the majority have to commute long hours to work, and work long duty times since Transport needs 18 years to study safety. Why?...

Re: Liberals to lift foreign ownership of domestic airlines

Greater foreign ownership of any industry has never been a good thing - unless you are a multinational. It means subjugation of whatever industry to outside interests (he who controls the money, makes the rules). It means poorer wages/working conditions for employees if the company is able to outsou...

.....and then being railroaded into an Encore interview. That's one of the funniest statements I've read....railroaded.....oh the humanity. Nothing worse than being forced to take an interview...at a regional....to fly a new Q400....with GUARANTEED Flowthrough to WJ. What's wrong with this industry...

Re: Would you work at Encore?

Sadly, I know of one confirmed case of someone (a friend of mine) applying only to WestJet mainline, doing a walkthrough and then being railroaded into an Encore interview. So unfortunately it does happen but hopefully not too often. Just take a step back and think about what WJ needs right now. A ...

Don't feed the troll  Dave P told me himself that it's a separate application, separate interview, and you'd have to apply twice in order to be eligible for positions at both companies. Somebody is enjoying all you guys getting sucked into the rumors surrounding this thread. Keep calm and car...

Re: Seneca signs cadet program with Jazz

Colonel, I don't disagree with you about learning from accidents. In fact I believe its essential to learn from our mistakes or the mistakes of others. Unfortunately, that still does not change the fact that the investigators will never know why the plane stalled. Was it because the instructor was d...

Re: Seneca signs cadet program with Jazz

Does Seneca still teach their students to leave the gear down on the Barons when they are doing circuits? They took the Bonanzas away because they couldn't keep them right side up. How will they remember the gear on a Baron if they don't just leave it down? Low blow Doc. I don't mean to sound disre...

This type of arrangement is clearly a degradation of the Canadian industry. Hopefully if ACPA cleans house a bit they will be in a condition to fight this.

I wonder how many times this kind of thing has been tried before...

Re: Jazz to become Air Canada Express.

There is that common saying... "there's always someone else willing to do your job for less!" I think this applies very nicely to the situation. Although I couldn't see all Jazz's flying disappearing in 9 years as 1500 pilots is no easy task to replace, a slow erosion over time seems quite feasible....

Many thanks. Looks like 500 mpic, while probably preferred and easy for them to find is not explicitly required.

Re: Hiring requirements.

I've been hearing alot about this 500 multipic idea. I also know that most people what go to work at Westjet from a 703/704 op will have mpic time. However, I cannot find information to indicate if this follows true at the 705 level (Aka. Jazz).

Hiring requirements.

I've been looking all over the Westjet forums for information on the desired attributes for Westjet applicants. Particularily the requirement for multi-pic time. Seeing as I could be making a career decision that could prevent me from getting multi-pic time for the forseeable future, I'd like to see...

Thanks mbav8r.
As a side note..
Also wondering how many reserve spots are there in a base like Calgary or Montreal (aka how many people have to be hired before you move up the list to hold a block).
