Re: F-35 is dead

I remember them accusing anyone who criticized this deal as being 'anti-Canadian'

They should have cancelled this 2 years ago.

So, just out of interest If you absolutely have to go into some trees (unlike this guy) what's the best plan? Controlled level flight into them at as slow a speed as possible? Cut the mixture/power and glide into them? Try and stall into them? They seem to have a fairly high survival rate as long as...

Re: F-35 looking more like white elephant

All the media in Canada is absolutely terrible, which is how the current government gets away with things that would have them swinging from the nearest lamppost (forgeries, massive corruption, bribery, voter suppression, muzzling of scientists) in my home country of the UK. CBC TV is included in th...

Re: Some advice needed

If not, start your job search on Vancouver Island. That way you're not going to end up being that guy that talked about picking a Tim Horton's cup out of the garbage to get a refill in another thread about road trips looking for a job. This is horrifying... I have to go find that thread now! The le...

Some advice needed

Hi there, I wasn't sure whether to put this in the 'Flight Training' forum or this one. I am currently 29 years old, in Ottawa with a full-time non-aviation job, about to complete my Commerical license with around 250 hours. In 6 months I am moving to Victoria (work transfer), where i aim to do some...

http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2011/12/joint-strike-fighter-13-flaws I thought you meant this article here from wired! Honestly I can't remember the last time I heard good news from the F-35 program, what a fantastically large waste of money (that isn't even suited for what we want out of a new fig...

It's a paper sim version of a radar screen with contacts on travelling at different altitudes and speeds, and you have to answer questions on them.

It's a really new thing I think

Sorry, when were they trying to appease the other parties? Was it when they tried to remove the other parties funding? Or when they renamed the government to 'The Harper Governement' instead of 'The Government of Canada'. Or was it when they pushed through a bunch of bills that got blocked in the ho...

Re: F-35 looking more like white elephant

So it is currently already over twice the price originally quoted, doesn't come with any flippin engines anyway and isn't even fully in production yet. Not to mention of extremely questionable use for what we need it for. And all this awarded on a no-bid contract, good stuff. Honestly, if this Harpe...

Yes, I think it was mentioned at the testing session that the course would be in Toronto for English Ottawa people. I kinda wish I could work in BC (that's where I used to live) or up North but I guess I can talk that through in my interview

On another note, first interview is next week!

Re: Ottawa Assessment Session ... for whom?

I am not bilingual and was invited to the Ottawa session on the 11th, just got to have my fingers crossed now!

As far as I understand though, the session was just for those who took part in the Sim test back in the Fall of 2010, so if you were not in that, you would not have been invited.

Re: Heathrow high tech snow removal

The problem is that for as long as I lived in England (from the 1980s up to 2006) there was never really any snowfall. One or two years we got maybe an inch, if that, but most years it either didn't snow at all or there was half a cm or so. However apparently in the last 2-3 years there has been a l...
