Re: Flying into Fairmont hot springs airport

Flew in there on July 2018 in a TBM 850, nice airport with no fees with Jet fuel purchase. The FBO gave us a ride to the resort. I remember doing the RNAV 33 Approach. Nice scenic approach between mountains in a wide valley.

Re: Does NavCanada threaten us with higher user fees?

NavCanada fees are too high to start with thats why they are refunding money. Fly anything over 3mt or a jet and the fees are ridiculously high in Canada thats why the US aviation groups are worried. Dont forget that the fuel taxes was never removed after the privatization and its actually up in Ont...

Canadian STC on N registered aircraft

Can you put a Canadian STC only mod on an N registered plane?

Im talking about some skis that are only STC in Canada. Are these legal to fly on N registered aircraft in the US?

Re: Viking Layoffs

A couple of small electric heater in the cockpit and avionic bay run by a small generator would keep everything warm to start. Cold gyros dont last neither in the extreme cold without preheat. Even the PT6 would need preheat under -20 according to Pratt. Just saying. Regarding cold temps and EFIS. G...

That as nothing to do with STOL performance.
Garmin G1000 screens works pretty good in the cold.

Re: Viking Layoffs

Please elaborate, why do they suck in the cold? Sad news indeed. Good Canadian jobs going by the wayside, a real shame in our 150th year! I like Viking and what they do, but they effectively neutered the series 400 which is why they've yet to sell ONE domestically. The new Twins suck in the cold and...

Keep raising the parking rates and you will have the airport to yourself. Im sure they already know that. What are they building on the south side of the...
