You'll have to pry Karens dead body out of the Otter in YVR.

AME for AGIP
There is a posting on the AME jobs .ca site for an engineer. Its with AGIP the Italian oil co and in Nigeria but the pay looks good. Finally a job paying what Engineers are worth. I'd say equal to a pinky engineer. I went back to the job add to see if it was paid in Naira which is about equal to wha...

I'd try making a contact in the T/C Aircraft Services hangar in Ottawa as it had/has a lot of ex First Air boys with Hawker time. Im sure some have BSW tools.

Re: Skipping Out on Obligations
Sorry to mislead you, I wasn't in E Africa but the fellow came to our project a few years later. Different company. So how does one address the skipping out problem if not with cash? Obviously VAL had way to many skip out over time and had to do something, same as most places who offer a step to the...

Skipping Out on Obligations
The Val forum is going toward the bond issue again so how about we explain some first hand experiences and maybe shed some light on the issue. Ill go first. . I worked with a pilot who was on that Canso with the French or was it Spanish film crew in E.Africa. He came to work with us and did a few ro...

Re: Voyageur Airways
I had dealings with Max Schapiro and Voyageur 30 yrs ago and they are still around so I,d say they are fairly well established and a safe bet to give a bond to. Lets not forget the reason for bonds in the first place. Pilots screwed the employer by moving on after training. Its fine and dandy to spe...

Re: Fire bombing Invaders in the Yukon
The year the old hangar burnt down?
Not to sure, maybe late 70,s or could be early 80,s but I stand correct if anyone knows more.
But it was years after the Paddle Wheelers burnt.

Re: Viking Proposes Resurrection Of DHC-5 Buffalo
The Zimex home page has some pictures of DHC-6 S.N 845 in construction jigs.
Of course they could be pictures from DeHav/Boeing days.
The video interview with Dave Curtis is not bad also.

I didn;t know that they still used the old D.O.T. anymore. I thought it was all Transport Canada now.
The maintenance positions are for T/C Aircraft Services Bld T58 and the term DOT is not used there.
Has anyone an explanation.

Pat Richard Were did these S.African Engineers work at? Sorry mate but my experience with Transport Canada has been this. India is considered a 3rd world country rife with corruption and you could have bought your certificate. Worst case senario is to expect to start from scratch and do the apprentice thing with log book etc. Did you contact any TC peopl...

Just what we need to look at, ANOTHER ordinary picture of a Beaver. I spent some tie in ON and Algonquin pk and like JC says its ordinary for a lot of us. Actually the reason I left ON (actually disliked it tremendously) was for that very reason. When people think what is ordinary and boring for me ...

I would have to agree that contracting overseas puts more in the pocketbook Look at Flight international, there is a listing of contract agencies there. I contracted at Altenrhein in Staad and there were quite a few contractors there, a lot of tin bashers. Switzerland can be expensive but if you liv...
