I'm with rn_pic, and JJJ. Doc you've given out alot of good advice to some of us in the past. I respected you for your "wolves of winter" post. But this shit is tasteless.....not helpful, not professional.

Re: Chimo job ad

Do you whiny people not realize why they need dock hands at the end of the season? because the lads that were working there right out of school managed to prove to others in the area that they had what it takes. Now they have full time employment as pilots in Red Lake flying year round. They aren't ...

Re: Place yer bets! YRL break up

I drove by Howey bay this morning, There were a couple of ATV's bombing around on the ice still. However the water down by the balmertown bridge is open. There's about 10' of ice still around the shore but it's gonna be dockable in a couple of days.

Re: CHC Int. Fixed wing

When i was working in Libya last year i met a couple of Dash-8 pilots working for CHC. I believe they were all out of Vancouver. They were only flying 2-3 flights per week, but they all seemed content. From a maintenance view point, they had their shit together. In a country where parts and equipmen...

Re: AME, piloting etc

forget about being an ame or a cop, go to dental school. You'll not only be able to pay for pilot training, you'll own one of the nicest aircraft at your local ga airport. But seriously if you want to be a pilot, then be a pilot! Getting an ame license will take two years of schooling, and then anot...

I've already got a ton of good stuff from PPRUNE.ORG, and posted there too.

However, i was hoping for a more Canadian point of view.

Road trip, Long way around!!!!!!

So after spending my life savings getting my Cpl/Multi/IFR, i'm gonna need to spend a bit more. -Looked into the instructor route= $6000-9000 with no guarantee of a job. -Buying a type rating= $10-30,000, No way! ( i like not being judged as scum) -Moving North for a rampie position= priceless! (6 m...

type rating

THIS IS NOT A TROLL!!!!!!!! Now that that's out of the way. I was reviewing some information about type ratings from BA training today. I noticed that they have a "Type ride / Licensing skill test" as part of there type rating programs for the CRJ7/9. Would this type ride (in the simulator I'm assum...

This list is based on logical assumptions, not my personal feelings towards the soon to be deceased. (mostly) 1.) Britney Spears, She'll run herself over with a car 2.) Patrick Swayze, cancer, bummer dude. 3.) Charley Boorman will probably crash into Ewan 4.) Ewan McGregor will probably crash into C...

Re: SkyWest flap problems

I had the dirty task of complying with the CRJ200 flap SB about two years ago. The problem was supposed to be water ingress into the flap flex drive housings. The SB was to remove a metallic crush washer, and replace with a Teflon washer at the accumulator junctions. despite the Sb, the problems per...

Cu Nim Gliding Club

Anyone every soared with the club? They're based out of the Black Diamond area. I've never had the chance to fly in a sailplane before, and i think learning to glide would make me a better pilot. (if not just for the fun of it) It looks to be a few grand to get the license and I'd like to know if an...

Re: Calgary FTU...

Employers are more likely concerned with a pilots experience, I.E. flight hours, and aircraft types flown, than they are concerned with where you were trained. (unless you had military training, or some form of advanced training. Non of which you'll get in Calgary) All the schools you've listed are ...

Re: A view on 2009. What do you want this year?

2008 was a good year for me, I earned my PPL, Float rating, and most of my CPL rating. I've got high hopes for 2009 too. Monday i will be having my Cpl Flight test, and Tuesday I'll be starting my multi rating, as well as my instructor rating......it's going to be another good year. It seems that ev...
