Re: Northern runway identifiers

Magnetic drift is .2 degrees per year (I think). If a runway was built with a departure heading of exactly 100 degrees, it would be named Runway 10; after 25 years it would have a departure heading of 105 degrees, necessitating a renaming to Runway 11. You wouldn't notice a change in runway heading...

Re: Northern runway identifiers

It's likely the compass variation has changed enough to require the runways be re-numbered.

Anyone remember when Edmonton International had 11/29 and 01/19?

Re: The Martin Mars is coming to nothern Alberta

Very cool. why does the Mars always come up as "the world's largest water bomber" when it can only scoop 27 000 Litres of water and the DC 10 can drop 12 000 gallons or 45 600 Litres? Just curious... Perhaps it is the worlds' largest flying boat and that just doesn't have the same ring to it??? Not...

If you have $10,000.00 and you are seriously ill go outside of Canada for treatment as you are quite likely to die waiting for treatment under Canada's socialistic health care system. After a quad bypass, an angioplasty and a double bypass over a 12 year time span, I can honestly say this is not my...

Yesterday's episode was probably one of the more interesting ones I've seen. Westjet takes off for LHR as a 737 but lands as a BA 747, Joe, Mikey, and Electra expert check out potential aircraft at "Atlantic Airlines" in Coventry, UK, Mikey and Joe climb Coventry cathedral's tower, Mikey wears the ...

(Bloomberg) -- The Toronto Port Authority is requesting cash from the federal government to build a C$38 million ($35.2 million) tunnel to the city’s island airport, the Toronto Star reported.
