my understanding is that during cross training you would still be paid. Depending on how long training is, this might work out to more than the 35K buyout.

It was a completely new test-bed kind of pilot project so they wanted to show their appreciation I believe for being guinea pigs. Why aren't FSS allowed to say "radar identified"? Air Regulations require that a request for a "squawk ident" must be aknowledeged when the flash is observed on radar. I've heard the horror stories of FSS who have tried to make the switch to FSS and failed. I was wondering if there is anyone on this forum that has made the transition sucessfully.
