Where to report?
Does TC actually care? I'd like to get a drone one day and not have them banned.

Positive press about Air Canada, what world is this?
Air Canada pilot diverts Tel Aviv-to-Toronto flight to ensure dog's safety An Air Canada pilot diverted an international flight to rescue a pup in peril. The Toronto-bound plane departed Tel Aviv on Sunday when the pilot noticed one of the cargo hold heaters had malfunctioned. Inside was a dog iden...

Re: YYZ red alert
Yesterday during the many red alerts due to lightening I noticed that many ground crews don't work outside however their were some who ignored the red alert and worked anyway. China Eastern and BA crews worked through the alert. Does the airport mandate all outside work stop or is it up to individu...

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2015/08/new-drone-telemetry-suggests-shot-down-drone-was-higher-than-alleged/ Via telemetry, drone was shot down at an altitude of 250+ feet while in motion. Motion doesn't cease. Does not corroborate the homeowners story of hovering 10 feet over his back yard. On ...

Where does this rank on the irresponsible/unsafe scale?
Really cool idea I think, really poor execution losing control like that with no fail-safe or backup plan. Would such a thing, if done away from population centre's represent any risk to air travel?
Would love to try it one day.

Don't be too rough on the folks behind the counter, just a subcontracted $10/hr job, usually the same company that does door guarding and checking your RAIC. More difficult job than the $20/hr folks who beat you with the baton on the pretense of "Being safe" They ask the stupid question because if t...

The employees had an opportunity to seize an extremely large scale of public support and instead chose to alienate customers and act like spoiled brats on national TV. I am not sure what leader rallied the union members to believe this would be advisable in order to gain support but I would suggest...

Re: Air Canada moves to lock out pilots
From what I hear and with past experience, Air Canada provides top notch first rate service on it's international routes and it's market share is/will be solid in this particular segment. Here's an anecdote from just watching passenger check-in line-ups at the 2nd busiest airport in Canada. Just to...

There's still metal detectors at Maui. Someone was very puzzled for a moment wondering what set it off, knowing he'd emptied his pockets. Then I went back and removed my belt and it didn't go off the second time through, late at night while trying to herd the five year old through security. ...

Re: Lockout and AC Jetz?
Air Canada has more than enough 320 pilots in management to cover Jetz flying. That's a lot of management, in my humble opinion. Remember when the agents went on strike? There were enough managers to fill the agent positions to keep the operation running relatively smoothly. Me thinks we are a litt...

The FAs are hot so you know it's fake. 7500 is a pretty smart title. Did anyone else see Turtle as a passenger? http://jchia101.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/sia_stewardesses_have_to_quit_if_pregnant_-topimage.jpg When I was a teenaged rampie, when this plane landed a very large portion of airside ac...

Re: Airport screeners stealing from passengers
Ever check craigslist or similar for prices on Swiss Army knives & Leatherman's? Not worth stealing, lucky to get 30 bucks for it. They go to, at least at YVR, the airport chapel and are sold for charity. They take it away without remorse because they are audited by plain clothes CATSA real governme...

Re: Airport Operations as a career
Good friend took that course, got interned and laid off. At YVR your ability to network, delegate tasks and appear to know what your talking about is of far more value than actual knowledge or skill. With what I do for a living around YVR, I only know operational managers. Not a single one of them t...

Good points ... why does no one worry about our Sun going super-nova? Because it lacks the mass to go supernova and with the current rate of consumption of core hydrogen we've got about 5 billion years give or take before it goes into a red giant with shell burning hyrdogen. However, I hope I am al...

Re: Why your bags are delayed in a thunder storm
I'm not sure if this is the case for all airports, but, I believe there is a blue light called "Thor" that tower lights up when TS are in a certain range of airport. Ground crews vacate apron and seek shelter. I guess these lucky lads didn't have that. YVR has that system, blue lights all around th...
