Re: JetBlue FA Quits 'Fight Club' Style

Maybe it's too early in the day and maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet. Hereo? Really? Hero's are people who in the face of personal peril risk there lives to save something or someone. By definition a hero is someone who thinks lastly of themselves. This guy thought only of himself and of no-one...

I have been told by Transport to expect the 704 exemption to be cancelled soon as well. More work for us ACP's. :)

Re: Ops Manager Test and Interview

My advice is to make sure your goals are the same as ownership. It is very difficult to change the culture of an operation that has been in business for a while. Aside from the platittudes about safety that ownership will spout at your job interview make sure that the organization is actually comitt...

Re: King Air 200 Question?

Commercial license is ok. If the aircraft is operated 703/704 then a 703/704 PPC is required. If it is operated 604 then a 604 standard PPC is required. As it is a pressurized turbine aircraft it must be operated either under (or both) a commercial AOC or a POC (Private Operator's Certificate).

Re: Noralta

Nice equipment and decent maintenance. Fort Vermilion is a nice little town and High Level is bigger but not as nice. The work is primarily medevac with the King Airs and the 206's a Caravan haul mostly pop and chips. Really good people and a nice clean place to work. Good luck. You coming as a pilo...

Re: Private airstrips...what are the rules?

Engine Guy, This is rather pointless. So you live in valuable real estate. Who cares. I only care about my real estate. So your horses are better than my horses okay..... No anger here, just clear and direct communication. Many people these days don't understand subtle hints so I find that clarity o...

Re: Private airstrips...what are the rules?

For Engine Guy and all the others that think us landowners as a##holes well let me put it to you this way. My land is private property . If you land on it and then walk up to the house to ask permission you have already trespassed. Secondly, and in my case more importantly, I own very expensive hors...

If you had a mechanical issue and were forced to land obviously I would do all I could to help. Take you up to the house, pour you a stiff one, and get you some clean shorts.

Re: Private airstrips...what are the rules?

Catdriver, You hit the nail on the head. But it's not just pilots. It's an entire generation of people who believe they are entitled. Look at the current economic bailout. I can remember a time where if you screwed up you paid the price. Now if you screw up you run to big brother government to bail ...

Re: Private airstrips...what are the rules?

Catdriver, No apology required. Thanks anyway. I do wish we could return to a time where people "popping" onto my strip would be acceptable. Unfortunately the mindset of most of the new generation is that of no respect for property owners. I am regularly having to deal with the idiot 4 wheelers and ...

Re: Private airstrips...what are the rules?

Muskeg.....I like the way you think...... Catdriver, no I would not seize their aircraft but a conveniently parked old JD 4020 or a half dozen or so round bales would make the take off roll unadviseable. I am perfectly happy to share my little piece of paradise with anyone who asks and shows a basic...

Re: Private airstrips...what are the rules?

My land is private property. My little strip is private. I move my horses to another spot on my property when I use my strip. If someone just landed for something to do and ran my horses into the fence.......Well use your imagination. Call first and you can fly in for coffee, come unannounced and yo...

Re: Where did West Wind Aviation thread go???

As an ex WWinder who worked there for a long time I can tell you that this is modus operandi for the ownership. Every few years this happens. Usually as a result of a few pilots actually believing, that when asked for an opinion in a pilot meeting, that management actually wants to hear it. Be very c...
