Re: Sunwest Layoffs - Again!

Anyway...that corner of the airport isn't doing well at all from what I've heard..Sunwest, Air Partners, and Albatross.

Might be a lot of available space around there to lease(or buy) in the not-too-distant future.

Re: Road trip job hunt, info please

G-sky in Fort Mac seems to have recurring ads for pilots - with 208 time, I would try them for sure. Otherwise I wouldn't waste time in rest of Alberta and BC.

Re: ETA

Be awesome to live on the island but international night medevac probably takes years off your life (just like doing long-haul at AC for 20 years)

I would think/hope it would be minimum $120,000/yr for pay.

Re: Forgetting to do eAPIS

You need an outbound clearance if you're operating Part 135 (or 121). You also need a "Permit to Proceed" if you're flying from one point in US to another. I know this because once I forgot to get both on a big charter and got a lecture from customs.

None is req'd if you are Part 91 (private).

The pilots don’t charge for the service, aside from the passengers’ share of the fuel costs and other expenses
Haha, sooo...they do charge for the service.

There's profit made somewhere so it's an app for chisel-charters..

I can't believe some people's idea of a sufficient solution is on the pilot reporting when they are fatigued to stop working. That regulation is already in place and it isn't working. What regulation? And what's not working? CAR 602.02 That regulation also prohibits an operator from requiring a pil...
