Anyone have any idea what this means?

Anyone care to guess who's trying to buy into WestJet? One of the "OneWorld" companies? Emirates perhaps?

Re: Wetaskiwin air show crash
Wow... I actually had the pleasure of flying with Ken at a media day out at CFB Moose Jaw many years ago (would've been around 2000 or 2001?) - and I'm pretty sure it was in THAT very aircraft. We actually did the dead-stick landing, doing the nice coast down the runway to where his son was standing...

Newly hired customer service agents were to have a mixed defined benefit and define contribution pension formula wh...

Must be a pretty recent repaint for 'Ed Force One', several pictures were taken of her arriving on 11-Sep-2011 in CYYC. Here's a link to mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37775469@N08/6196630093/ amraam It was recent. On another website G-STRX is listed as painted white on Oct 8th prior to enterin...

It does suck that they're shutting it down and being forced to move, but let's face it: $100,000 behind on the rent?

When I send my stuff through security, I watch it like a hawk. I refuse to put my passport or boarding pass in the bin (I always carry it through...never had a problem) and I always keep my wallet in my back pocket (again...never had a problem).
Annoying.

First off, I think they deserve jobs at le Cirque de Soleil. Three people who can perform the gymnastics required to @#$^ in an aircraft biffy should be a cinch to make it big in Vegas. I agree. I mean, I'll admit I'm a "bigger guy" (5'10" 255lbs) and I don't think I could join the Mile High club B...

I flew on C-FEAR up at Cooking Lake (outside of Edmonton) on one of my first "familiarization" flights. And I also did a couple of flights on C-FAGE at the Edmonton Flying Club at CYXD.

Re: Explosion at Moscow airport
I'm not gonna lie...and I'm not proud of this, but I predicted something like this would happen quite sometime ago. My wife and I were talking about it one day, and we both wondered how long it would be before someone blew themselves up inside a crowded airport. How long will it be before people who...

Re: Calgary Raises AIF
I vaguely remember a time when the AIF wasn't added to the price of the ticket...I seem to recall having to pay the AIF at YVR at a machine (similar to an ATM) and having to show the AIF receipt to the agent at security.
Or was that all in my head? Ha ha...

Likely a charter...either the Calgary Flames or Calgary Hitmen hockey teams.
Apparently they charter a Jazz AC and go into City Centre rather than EIA for ease of access to Rexall Place (I posed the same question about a year ago & that was the answer I received).

Question for you instructors: What is the lowest time you have sent someone solo in? My answer: 5.5hrs. The guy flew once a week. Absolutely incredible- had to help him on one landing throughout the whole pre solo stage. I probably could have sent him solo in about 4, but did an extra flight to mak...

Re: Westjet Troubles Continue
To the average traveller it seems like a bit of a scam that the price goes up while you're on hold. It's not right IMO and they should have a way to see the fare history so they can match the fare from when they called. I'm happy I've stepped into the 21st century and book all my flights on-line. I...

I just booked YEG to YYZ in February for $100 each way and YEG to YWG (with connections in Calgary on the outbound & return trips) for $85 each way. It's been a looooooong time since I've seen fares this low.

Re: The Terrorist Have Won!
I think about this all the time and what upsets me is that our government seems to rely on passenger screening when in reality, a suicide bomber could have explosives hidden in their stomachs on a timer. How is a CATSA or TSA person going to detect that? I've often wondered this myself. And how lon...
