While the article reports a Yak-52, the photo clearly shows a Nanchang CJ-6.

Beaver Air Serice does business as Missinippi Airways and according to a TSB spokesman on the radio, the airplane was a C208B manufactured in 2005.
According to T.C. register info this would be C-FMCB.

Apparently a Comp Air 4 according to Transport Canada.
Probably C-GPPW since this seems to be the only Comp 4 on Canadian register and is also based in Alberta.
