when the buzz is gone? then (in my opinion): GET OUT do yourself a favour, don't be the victim. don't take to complaining and falling into bitterness. spare everyone the episodes where you go about as if you are trapped in your own life with no options. Life is too short. if money is all you care ab...

without warning, the instructor jumped out, just like that. I didn't even see it coming. then a couple of circuits. It didn't hit me until after, on the ground, driving home . . . then the feeling of elation and that silly grin that kept creeping back onto my face. called home collect, using the nam...

The marshaller eventually threw down the wands...

All we are saying is give us traffic that could be a conflict. Then shut the FU&K up! We are FAR more capable of sorting out what is a conflict and what isn't than any FSS "specialist". I am an FSS who agrees with this statement 100%. Except that where I work there are big fancy jets with TCAS who ...

hmm, yes, i see all your points.
The thing is, at this particular airport there is a 360 degree cab and no one is ever asked to report airborne. But then, pilots fly at many airports so you get used to operating in the same or similar fashion at each one. . .

Off topic, but not by too much: Why oh why do pilots report airborne off a runway when there is a ground station in operation (either tower or fss)?!? EG: "## radio, ABC is airborne off 34". Ever notice those great big windows in the tower? They can see you! Maybe I'm not understanding the full pict...
