Re: CYYZ closed???
Back to the original title of the thread about the airport being closed... CYYZ isn't closed, but the Downsview airport might be... just heard on CP24 that Bombardier employees from that location are being advised not to come into work tomorrow. Anyone else hear this? 401 is open again but the Keele...

Re: CYYZ closed???
There was a fire this morning at Sunrise (petroleum company). Residents in the Wilson and Keele area were evacuated and the 401 was closed from the 400 to the DVP for a while. No major injuries... think they're hoping to re-open things by tonight. Don't think the airport was ever closed because of i...

Would you be spending time on the ramp first at either of the companies? Can you afford to live in YVR? It's beautiful, yes - a great city,...

I believe the only difference is that there's a NAV component on the Private exam.tvguru wrote:I would highly recommend writing the Private exam.

Re: Westside Aviation and Skyquest Aviation
I rented at Skyquest for about 8 months to keep current while I was in school. It's at the Langley airport. 2 C152, 2 C172 and a Duchess. Small school, but the staff are nice and it wasn't too hard to get bookings (online booking system). I knew one of the instructors there who has since moved on to...

Industry Canada has a study guide posted on their website ( http://www.ic.gc.ca ). Here's a link to the PDF: http://www.ic.gc.ca/epic/site/smt-gst.nsf/vwapj/ric21e.pdf/$FILE/ric21e.pdf Study everything. I believe it's a multiple choice test so if you're good with recognition you should do well. I ju...

Re: A friendly reminder to those that fly into CYXX
I agree with SkyWolfe and Invertago... when I was starting my IFR training, I'd do something similar for holds too. Think POD then draw it out a couple minutes ahead, so when you get to the fix you know what way to turn. Visualizing the big picture is key.
