Re: West Coast To Hawaii
Just 604. Privately owned as an example. BC - Hawaii might be tight, but Oakland - Hawaii would work?

West Coast To Hawaii
Kinda random, but curious... A Citation Sovereign is capable of flying around 2880nm. Victoria to Kona, HI is roughly 2340nm. Realistically, would this be a distance that some of you guys would fly the C680? I know that it depends on winds, just looking for a general answer and if this would be a "c...

Re: Single Pilot IFR
Hey thanks for posting that. Just wanna make sure I have the first part clear though... So I have a group 1 IFR that I got in January 2009. It expires February 1st 2011. Let's say "hypotheticaly" I don't fly and file IFR until a flight in March 2010. Not only have I not been current with my 666, but...

Borek/MAR again...
Kind of a weird question, but here goes... I may have an interview coming up in the near future, but I'm just wondering if Borek will want to see a copy of my high school diploma? When I moved from down east a couple of years ago, I left a lot of stuff behind and I'm pretty sure it got thrown out. W...

There's also C-GVMP 900XP which belongs to Morningstar Partners. But like almost every other business at YXD, their lease is good until 2018.

Re: RECREATIONAL PILOT'S LICENCE
 ... ahhh.... Anyways, I used to work at a flight school and in the two years I taught there, not one person did a Recreational Pilot Permit (and yes it's a permit, not a license). You're really limited in what you can do with it and in the end the PPL is only a couple grand more. If cost is ...

Re: DO NOT Depend on US FSS to Advise Customs
I usually fly down to the states once or twice a month and (as Hedley mentioned) I only land at the airport when I've spoken to a customs official who is based there. I've never had any problems. With regards to the 178 form, they really appreciate it when you fax it down a couple hours before you a...

Blueoval56,
Why not apply to Borek? I have three friends there now and all but one had only 250ish hours when they got hired for the Maldives.

Re: looking at a new career
Last time I checked (a few months ago) the CF has a continuing education plan. It's for experienced civilian pilots and former (and current) members of the forces. You have something like 9 years to get a degree through correspondence. I have a buddy who flies the griffin and he still hasn't got a d...

New Zealand
Any Canadians currently working in New Zealand care to share how they came to fly over there? As far as I know you can get a one year working visa if you're travelling, but I'm not really sure on other available options. I'm sitting at around 650TT and I'm starting a Multi IFR soon.
Thanks.
Thanks.
