Weight and Balance Apps

I did a quick search on this topic, but it came up somewhat blank. Just wondering what you guys are using for weight and balance apps (Apple)? Used Flightscale in the past, however it's no longer available / won't work with the latest updates. Looking for something which would work for both helo (la...

Re: WJ B-767 Fleet questions

Thanks for that, I did not know they were crossing the Atlantic or half the Pacific with the B737 - that explains a lot! I just asked a simple curious question. The bigger question here now for me is why my question solicits sarcastic replies that contain negative and agressive undertones. Not the ...

You may want to consider Henderson Executive airport. I've always had great experiences flying into there. Quick ride to the strip.

Thought I'd restart this thread. Has anyone ever rented a plane in Florida to fly around the Bahamas for a week or so? Any suggestions or recommendations?

Re: Aviation Document Booklet - Expiration

Are all the booklets printed at one location? My licence expired in Jan, so in early Dec I went to the TC office and was told to expect a new one within three weeks. Well, within two weeks I had a new one... No joke. Quickest processing I've ever seen.

Baffles are the way to go. I've got loads of winter hours in them and have never had a problem, even around -20.

Re: Police Helicopters.....Rolls-Royce or Chevy?

If WPS does indeed purchase a police helicopter it will be a great move. Not only for officer safety, but for overall effectiveness and pressence. For an officer working patrol on the ground, it's very helpful knowing your colleagues are watching over you. An R44 won't work - all the radios, scanner...

Re: SA also applies to walking on the ramp.....

Years ago I had to remove the GPU cable from a Harvard II while it was running; no big deal. Just a really shitty blow job. On a side note, what is it with Harvard II pilots turning their strobes on when they're on the ramp and taxiing? Not so bad during the day, but at night it definitely shows poo...

Re: Comparing Lawyers, Doctors etc to Pilots....

That average for doctors is pretty low. Maybe it's average for a GP, but definitely not other specialties. My dad's an anesthesiologist and made over $400k last year. You can't really compare a pilot to a doctor or lawyer. Anyone with half a brain can get a CPL and eventually end up flying something...

Re: Jazz Dash 8 at CYXD?

The Jazz Dash 8's at CYXD ARE charters for the Calgary Flames. To answer the last post, all of the players equipment is sent by ground transport to Calgary. So yes, a Dash 8 can fit all the players, coaches, and management; along with their personal bags. And they DO NOT have to be provided with a A...

Pilots turning on their Strobe Lights at night when they are taxing. Very Very unprofessional.

Re: Evergreen 747 Waterbomber at YEG

Global news had a story on the Evergreen 747 when it was in YEG yesterday. They said it costs approximately $30,000/hour to fly and can only operate from YEG in Alberta... therefore, Alberta Forestry says at this time they have no need for it.
