Re: MNR Interviews

They canceled the original job posting and then re-posted it sometime in July, that meant you had to resubmit your resume. Not sure anyone has been contacted for interviews yet.

Re: When is it time to pull the pin?

Congrats Skipper! You'll be missed around the base. I am glad I had a chance to fly with you, I learned a ton about fighting fires from you, plus more interesting facts about random topics than I could handle...lol If you ever find yourself missing the job just think about checking into the Winston ...

Re: A Legend has passed

Such sad news.Rob will be missed by many folks. He gave me my float rating on Handberg's Champ many years ago and passed along a lot of his knowledge during my years working there. I will always be greatful for that and the friendship he showed me. I don't think there are too many people who flew in...

Re: OMNR job posting

The jobs aren't posted internally first. As for in house applicants it all depends on whether anyone is interested in the move to that position. If they are and are successful in their interview it would mean their old position would become vacant. So anyone that is interested should give it a shot,...

I remember seeing this Turbine Beaver a few years back and it is painted in Canadian colors on the other side, a little more appropriate considering its heritage.

Hawker Hunter in Quebec City?

I'm here in Quebec for a few days and noticed a Hawker Hunter fuselage sitting near the Government hangar. Just wondering if anyone knows the story behind this machine?

Just to add to what CLguy said, if you use the "job archive" link on the gojob website and search for pilot it will bring up some old job postings and they list the OMNR requirements.

There were a few people interviewing for the captains spots this past week that were from outside the company. Find out in a week or so who gets what. There are a lot of experienced F/O's at the MNR so I would think it unlikely for someone else to be hired, but you never know.

Ok, the MNR fleet consists of DHC2T's, DHC-6's, King Air 350's, CL-415's plus the rotary wing fleet. The basic requirements for the Turbo Beaver are a CPL, plus they do like you to have an IFR ticket as well. Although it is not flown IFR, I remember an MNR requirement for the IFR if you were going t...

Dog... I was in your position myself a few years ago, lots of time, lots of float time but no ATPL. Finally getting it finished opened up a lot of doors, in the bomber business and elsewhere. So if you can, get the time for the licence, it's well worth it. As for the pay, check in the Salary forum, ...

Well I can see the pot stirring already. Not too sure where you get your info on fighting fires. From what I have seen there aren't too many people that want to see a fire get out of control. In fact going out on a mission and successfully stopping a fire is what we strive for. Cause if it's still b...

There was 1 415 F/O job bid, and 3 KingAir spots. Not sure if this is an ongoing trend or not, there may be the odd job bid in the next couple years due to retirements and lateral moves.

And yes we are all out flying :smt028
