Re: Has TC stopped publishing the Aviation Safety Letter?

You know what really grinds my gears? http://www.themobilityresource.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/grinds-my-gears.jpg (1) there are only 2 safety letters out for this year and it's the end of December. C'mon man! What do we pay our taxes for?? (2) the pdf download times quoted are for a 56k modem....

if it didn't work out for me when I wanted to make some money while doing it, it may work out if I want to lose some money while doing it
Tell that to your kids.

Are you going to get your ATPL sooner now? [Poll]

In light of the rules changing this week, I'm curious how many people are going to take advantage of the new 1:1 copilot hours credit. To clarify, reply 1 means that you think you will go captain on a airplane requiring an ATPL sooner now that you can count all your copilot time. Option 2 means you ...

Re: This is how people get killed (video)

^ The worst part of that is now the people his organization helped with medical aid are now without care because of his stupidity. He now feels bad and is trying to raise $200K for a new plane. :| He mentions several times that they couldn't get insurance because of the high-risk flying they do. Not...

Re: Question: Who all views and downloads...

I like to download resumes for fun. I look at the page layout, how they have their hours listed, types flown, any school/past work/achievements and how they are listed. I sometimes get good ideas for my resume. On the other hand, it's mostly entertaining to see what not to do. Sometimes you see resu...

Re: Needing some employment ideas and tips

I also agree with the others who say the video is hurting you. It is easy to point out faults, so with all due respect, take the following as areas for improvement: -Cancel the master warning as soon as you know what it's for. -There is a edit jump around the 1:07 mark. As the copilot VSI is going b...

Re: Pilatus PC-12 power setting rationale.

^thanks photofly. My post was mostly in jest/sarcasm as measuring engine power by manifold pressure doesn't make sense until you understand how it works and what it is actually measuring. Likewise a turboprob power gauge in PSI doesn't make sense until you understand how it works and what...

Re: Pilatus PC-12 power setting rationale.

I fly a constant speed piston engine. Moving the throttle changes the "Manifold Pressure" in inches of mercury. Confusing. I would prefer "Torque", or "Horsepower", or "% Power", but no, the aircraft manufacturers are stuck on the super-confusing manifold pressure as a measurement of power....

Re: Beech King A100 Beloeil QC

Looks like a case of the mixture too lean on climbout. The pilot should have checked wunderground for the local pressure setting.

Re: Got About 900-1200 Hours? MEIFR?

I am a recent college grad looking for work until Jazz calls. I can land a 172 on a 10000 ft runway with a 5 kt crosswind. I can do a 7 page pre-start checklist in 13 minutes. I use wunderground for weather planning and I end every callsign with "zzzz". I go full rich props fine for descent and I we...
