TRY Navigating..watch , map , ground.always worked for me. If you are using a handheld GPS try carrying a fresh set of batteries with you along with a current chart.

Re: Savin' the Prop
The same situation occurred while demonstrating a Rockwell 112TCA. Tower confirmed nose wheel only partially down, rescue equipment called out. Shut down the engine on short final, held the nose off and as speed decayed I felt a thump and waited for the bottom cowling to scrape the runway. Surprize,...

Re: Stalls into a headwind or Tailwind
Get another instructor! The airplane does not know or care which way the win is blowing when doing stalls. It all depends on your entry technique.
After 40 years of instructing, I thought that I had heard it all. Now tell me, is there Yaw in turn? Or only in a LSA

Re: Red Deer Student Lost
With all these Engliss Proficiet slo students in our airspace, we can expect another YHU before too long. I'm surprised that the Fraser Valley dogfight hasn't produced more casualties.
As long as off-shore entities own the majority of flight schools in our country the problem will only get wo0rse

Have you ever seen a T-33? It still looks like a Mustang, minus the bulky Merlin engine with the cooling system.
