Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share
AC final decision on this transaction is now weeks or months away. Seemingly, AC has resumed discussions with TRZ about possibly further modifying the already modified purchase agreement. Secondly, terms of industry specific aid will have to be factored in. Likely weeks away. Finally, AC will not c...

Re: Rouge Suspending Operations?
This is for the flight attendants: 7CA9986B-6902-4F04-82DE-BB9EDC14D20E.jpeg I don’t think any additional pilots are being laid off. Looks pretty definitive end. Making room for ts fas? I think it’s cause the government forced AC to stop flying to sun destinations which are primarily done by Rouge.

Re: FL430 for commercial airliners
It is exactly because you’d have one of the 2 pilots always on oxygen. Also the good old 767 could get up 430 as well.

I don’t think people are that pissed off about inmates getting vaccinated. They’re pissed off because the vaccination effort in general has been a total gong show but inmates are getting vaccinated in timely manner. All the levels of government involved had months to prepare for this and didn’t do ...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
AC really negotiated a great deal out of this. Mind you, a large part of the original purchase price was also acquiring TRZ's cash on hand 1:1. So with that depleted, the value has correspondingly dropped to the value of their assets alone. Nice, lean deal. We can all thank the Gov't for the state ...

Re: General C Yeager RIP
The most interesting thing I remember from his autobiography was him stating that his air to air combat record in WW2 (ace in a day, shooting down a ME262 and being shot down and hiding out with the resistance to escape to Spain) was what he though the pinacle of his career was. Nobody will ever hav...

Re: IATA Warning for Canadian Aviation Sector
Well of course the public is scared the media and to a certain extent the governments have been painting them a scary story. How scary is COVID now? I’d say far less scary then they make it out to be. Here’s some one walking in downtown Stockholm sometime last week. https://youtu.be/bamZrEfwx0A Look...

Does that sum include a support program? They are due for replacement but we don't have the cash for that. I was always a supporter of bombardier but I'm done with them. They managed to kill evinrude now too, they're the worst! Bombardier doesn’t own Evinrude, BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products)...

Re: Is Jazz Approach worth it?
First thing you don’t get any seniority at AC. On where you are based when hired, it depends where they need pilots and what seniority you draw. It’s possible that Jazz might not be hiring for 2 years plus. This sort of arrangement works in the pre COVID pilot shortage environment where places like...

Not to mention there are now thousands of unemployed pilots in the US, no company is going to try to sponsor a Canadian pilot while they can hire a US pilot without going through hoops.

I will save the guff and just get to the point. my gf is american, I am canadian. We have both expressed more interest in working and living in the states. I had a regional job lined up before COVID. Re: Brand new pilot looking for advice during COVID
I’d go visit these places. Show your face. Talk with a chief pilot or the owner. They probably won’t have a job for you but in 3 months they might. And someone they met and talked to for 45 minutes stands out a lot more than a guy who emailed his resume for that job.
