Re: 17 year TA?

I could barely accept back then signing up for a 3 year cell phone plan. Bell and Rogers will try and convince you to sign up for the long term to "lock in your great deal". But we know every year there is a chance to negotiate a better term. Drawing a parallel argument now. If we sign up for 17yea...

Re: Must be a record...3 go-arounds for one flight.

Having the CP talk to them will only ensure that they drive it on no matter what so they don't get yelled at. This board has a lot of growing up to do. I don't often post and I'm so close to pulling the pin on this place it's ridiculous. If having the CP talk to the crew would result motivating the...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks

1 for 1 replacements for 6 & 700's :smt040 The initial order should free up about 7 NG's for more productive longer haul flying. An analysis of all the various markets Encore could operate into within North America together with a very modest, low frequency O&D schedule with a system 325 mile asl, ...

Word on the street is the pay packet for wjE is going to be touched up. If so I guess the uptake wasn't as positive as represented.

Re: Stand-by Travel

Very true..and disappointing. The latest memo that was distributed to check-in staff on the floor regarding J class upgrading of employees WITHOUT using a C1/J10 pass said this: ..."It is revenue loss to Air Canada when an employee using a C2 gets an upgrade to business..." How sad and pathetic is ...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks

Teacher, I'll wager $1000.00 with you that the first Encore FO's who complete a full calendar year without upgrading, will exceed Jazz FOs (of similar years of service) total comp exclusive of overtime. I'll even put it in writing. Race to the bottom? Put your money where your loud-mouth is. JJJ So...

Re: Westjetters back Regional Airline 91% say yes

Seems the braintrust at WJ outsourced a big chunk of the strageic planning for this little venture. Holly Hegeman love her or hate her always has something to say.. From Plane Business: "For those of you who are Network Nerds (and you know who you are), one can't help but be fascinated by what is go...

Re: Westjetters back Regional Airline 91% say yes

im all for taking 100% of the pilots from the regional to mainline but dosent that make it hard for the guy with 4000-5000 hours who is capt on a 705 machine or jet? does he have to sit right seat on a q400 or ATR for years just to get to the 737. I think 2 out of every 4 should be upgraded to main...

Re: 50 Q400 at WJ being farmed out

I see. So the trick is to make the current 'Mainline" WJ employees believe that the start up costs should and WILL be borne by the new baby, and to make the new baby 'Feeders' believe they deserve less because they are a new and distinct entity that has to forge it's own 'new' way. I guess I've misu...

Re: 50 Q400 at WJ being farmed out

Hi guys, I think the big difference here is it's NOT them against us. It never has been here. But it will be Dave, and a lot of the Westjetters I know are pretty uncomfy about it. A lot of these folks (top drawer people IMHO) ran away from a multiple entity airline group when it became clear to the...

Re: Transat to merge with/buy out Company X ???

Since Transat and Jazz are both ALPA groups they have really no choice but to follow the ALPA constitution (date of hire) .. unless they choose to go the way of U.S Airways and .......... Air Canada and decertify. ALPA's constitution does not mandate DOH mergers. ALPA provides a process by which in...

Re: The AC Pilots Private Forum is temporarily unavailable.

There must be a whole lot more to the story - Disco. It is highly unusual for a T/A to go to the membership, without the blessing of the MEC! So, you are telling us that the MEC voted unanimously to "send it to the membership" without giving it the support of the MEC. Sorry, I'm having a hard time ...

Doug, you are right, that is totally lunacy that those folks are taking in such a huge pension. I agree. What I'm saying is in today's world with new companies popping up and NOT offering a DB plan to new employees that automatically puts them at an advantage financially. I don't think it's good bu...

Re: AC C2 & TC!

Jazz employees don't work for TC. They work for Jazz. There is no such thing as a Jazz employee commuting to work for TC. They are commuting to work for Jazz. "Un-True"...Jazz employees operating aircraft for TC are considered to be on LOA from JAZZ (this is according to Air Canada management) and ...

Re: A320 and B767 for Jazz pilots

Jazz Air would be much better off financially if they were to operate as a stand alone carrier. AC knows this. AC needs Jazz more than Jazz needs AC. Are you sure? Standing alone means you'd have to pay for your own fuel. Jazz provides lift to AC for a price. Do you really think that Jazz should, w...

Would it be a way to legally escape our liabilities? Geee.... Didn't you guys already try that 15 years ago?? T...

Re: Good job YYZ ATC (repost from general)

Yup, it was WestJets fault. EDITED ..............and you think WJ feeds their employees koolaid. Sometimes it's more than just the employees that get the kool-aid. A while back a WJ a/c hit a stationary Jazz a/c while maneuvering on the ramp in YLW. No big deal, stuff happens. (for a while t...
