Re: Pilot speaks on CBC regarding the Foreign workers progra
Bravo Gilles, I watched all aspects of todays' discussion via the CBC website and thought that you represented the overwhelming majority of Canadian Pilots' views extremely well. It looks as though the issue has finally reached critical mass and that your efforts are bearing measurable results. I do...

Re: Why Sunwing's and Canjet's FLVC are illegal
Well done Giles, Your tenacity and thoroughness are to be commended. Whilst true that TC's efforts to discourage you and your ongoing campaign (with deflection tactics) may simply be a result of their being embarrassed by the truth (that they have acted in contravention of the very regulations for w...

Re: WestJet’s plan to crush Air Canada
I agree! If they're going to hand AC money then hand some to WS too! And while they're at it, how about adding the rules that AC is saddled with to WS as well. Lets make it a even playing field! Let me begin by saying that I'm no proponent of the Air Canada Act. I think it's unfair and outdated to ...

Up 48% on the day??
What's with the huge move in AC stock today? Sure there's a rally on Bay Street however it's disproportionate to the lift that Air Canada received.

Re: Is this how we treat people?
I commute on Westjet quite a lot (recip). No complaints and I appreciate the option. Anyone with quibbles might consider that the price is certainly right!! It's pure goofiness that we (AC) can only carry as many recip people as we have jumpseats. I think it's being worked on but don't hold your br...

Re: anybody been called yet?
Wow, this thread certainly has gone a bit sideways from the original topic... Had no idea that my response would illicit such emotions! WRT managing the automation, I'm certainly not attempting to re-invent any wheels nor contravene Boeing's design philosophies. Actually, I take pride in attempting ...

Re: anybody been called yet?
I guess it's just a whole new philosophy and hence, mind-set. There are numerous examples of this however I'll try to hit on the ones that were obvious to me.... Firstly, we are neither required nor expected to have an intricate knowledge of the systems on board the machine. For example, on previous...

Re: anybody been called yet?
I agree that having seen how a more "complex" thing work must be easier on the stress, however if someones can get him/herself out of that mindset, I still don't believe it's harder to learn a 737 coming from a RJ or a King Air. For what it's worth.... I came off a 1900 and the transition to the NG...

For those that have recently started with WJ as a pilot. Did you do any studying prior to starting the course. Can you shed some light on what to expect in terms of schedule and so on. Thanks Welcome aboard! Basically, what Tim Tam said. One thing that I'd like to add though, it will help immensely...

The most recent posting for first officer on the king air for voyageur. OK, guys, like really. I realize we all have to put our time in. If you need help financially there are many here who will chip in to pay a lawyer for you. Count me in for $30 if it goes to court (sorry it's only $30 - I am a pilot afterall!). The bottom line is if you are on a medevac mission, going to pick up or returning home empty most employers who watch their bottom line will tell you to file medevac, because nav canada fees are waived for medevac flights.
